Henry Video!

Weekend Post

We had such a great weekend! We decided to spend it home. doing nothing. Saturday we literally did nothing. Just a little organizing here and there and I stayed in my pjs well into the afternoon. I will admit, it was hard for me to relax and just "be" but that is Kit's ideal Saturday and after having something to do every Saturday for so long, it was a welcome change! Then, yesterday, we did another spontaneous thing and decided to enjoy another family day together. We had the best day. We went to Cracker Barrel where we started off the morning with breakfast and then drove to the north side to visit a Bass Pro Shops. Henry was in heaven. We have been wanting to do a little something special before the baby arrives but have no desire to spend a whole day outside with the heat...everyone would be too miserable. So, instead of paying $26 a person to go to the aquarium, we took Henry to Bass Pro Shops instead. haha! Honestly, I think he loved it more than the aquarium or zoo. We didn't take the stroller and let him walk almost the whole store. We let him sit on just about any equipment he wanted to and boy did he try out just about every boat, ATV & Buggy in sight! He LOVED all the steering wheels and was so proud of himself! Of course, he LOVED the fish tank too and we had to go visit them twice! Kit enjoyed doing a little shopping and got to play around at the shooting range. I did too for a little bit but then I thought I must look comical with a gun and a 9 month pregnant belly! ha! :) When we were leaving the store, they had some of the parking lot blocked off for an ATV trial course and naturally, Kit perked right up. So, it was fun that he got to "test" drive one and Henry shouted "poppa, poppa!" the whole time Kit was riding. He really wanted to ride, too. We finished out the trip by stopping at Steak 'n Shake (yum!) and when we got home Henry took a 3 1/2 hour nap...wahoo!
What a fun weekend...of course, I put the camera in the car but didn't take any...nice, huh?
Also, I completely failed to put anything on our blog that last weekend was our 6th Anniversary! We ended up going to the Melting Pot in Midtown and had a wonderful evening! Again, no picture. I'm really failing at this picture thing!

37 weeks!

I totally have made it to my goal...37 weeks.
Praise the Lord!
We are ready whenever you are baby!
Ask Henry if he wants a brother or a sister... and he'll say sister.
Kit was super happy to see that his son is in agreement with him on his prediction...
until I pointed out it's important how you ask the question...
He just repeats whatever you say last... :)

Doctor's Appointment

Just wanted to post a quick update on here.
Baby is measuring still right on track with good stats and is just as squirmy as ever! When checking for baby's heartrate, the doctor had to laugh at how fiesty the baby was and baby seemed to not like the doppler on my belly! (Oh my!) I actually lost weight from last appt (a good sign that we are getting closer to the end!) and my BP continues to be normal. Today I was 2 cm and 50% effaced and the baby has dropped.
So, I am slowly progressing and it's exciting to know that we are coming to the end of this pregnancy and sooner than later we'll be meeting our sweet pea.
I remember being dilated with Henry for a while, so I'm sure we still have some time, which is good since Kit just finished the "before baby" list and I promised him some r&r!

Happy 20 months, Henry!

Here is a picture from yesterday, just before church. Henry has worn nothing but flip flops and sandals all summer...he wasn't too sure about me breaking out the closed toed shoes and long pants yet!

It's so hard to believe that Henry is 20 months already and unless I go a week past my due date, Henry and the baby will be 20 months apart, not 21 months like I guess I've been telling people!

We have had such a busy July & August so far and we've really enjoyed all the family who has stopped in to see us but I walked downstairs this morning and couldn't believe how much cleaning and organizing I want/need to get done. So, it's off to deep clean this week like you wouldn't believe along with last minute shopping. Oh yeah, and I guess sometime I should think about packing...I forget I'll have to pack for Henry, too, since the plan is for him to stay with friends.

Have a great week!

Time to Guess...

So with just 4 weeks to go, it's time to make guesses on Baby C's gender, weight, & birthdate. Leave your guess in a comment!

**I'm keeping this calendar updated with guesses so if you haven't left one yet...please do! :)

Doctor Appointment

I just got back from my doctors appointment and the good news is that I seem to be nice and boring...which is what you want when you are pregnant! I am not quite ready to have this baby yet...would still like a couple more weeks for baby to grow and get those lung good and strong! My stats and baby heart rate continue to measure right on track!
This baby already has me a little nervous...Henry seemed to be quiet, laid back and still even in the womb. Sure, every evening he would roll around and have some activity but mostly only if we agitated him (poked around on him) would he kick back a little here and there....I told Kit last night that this child never seems to stop moving! Even though the baby has ran out of room, I feel him or her moving, squirming, ALL the time and constantly see feet and elbows (almost like goose eggs) around my belly. Oh boy, the difference in personalities already! :)

The part where I brag on my husband!

You can just call my husband Mr. Nester right now. There have been a few projects on my mind for a little while and well, having a baby is the perfect way to get you thinking about doing them before you are stuck on a continual 3 hour cycle and lucky when you do actually get a shower in (and for me...time to blow dry my hair straight)! So, I started panicking. I rambled to my ever patient husband and he listened. We made a long (detailed) list and the past week we've sweated more than we knew we could, felt like we would never get all the sawdust off of us and our wrists have been continually sore with all the painting we've done!
But, this week we are seeing the benefits of all that hard work as we've completed tasks and are oh-so-close to finishing others. I just thought I would show you a couple of examples of things we've been doing to keep ourselves busy around here...
Like...My first dilemma. What to do with all those great family photos? I always buy frames and place pictures in them when I've ordered photos but I can never commit to an exact location for a picture. I change things up in my house all.the.time. I shop my house and think it's important to LOVE where you live. It's taken me almost two years but I am starting to LOVE my house. It's not huge, it's not perfect by any means but it meets our needs and heaven only knows how many times I've repainted something, a room, etc but it finally is all starting to come together in my mind....
Lots of photos that were in a closet, not on the walls.
Solution?
Picture Ledges so I can continually swap pictures (especially important with a new little one on the way!)
Next...Table. I LOVED this table from the minute I clicked on the add from Craigslist but I didn't love the green...I loved the reclaimed top. So, my sister and I sanded, painted, painted, painted and distressed, distressed, sweated, sweated....sweated for the bottom half. Then, my husband worked nights in the garage sanding, sanding, sanding down the top. He has put multiple coats of poly on the top..this thing is like glass on top now! :) LOVE it...still waiting to find the perfect chairs...sigh
:)

Practicing for the BIG day...

If you know Henry very well, you know he LOVES his frog and dog (otherwise known as frog and puppy...I know, how original!). Since we have no baby doll around here, we have been using frog and puppy as "babies" that sleep ALOT and cry too. And, as you can see from the pictures, he is going to be a GREAT BIG BROTHER!

I know I sent a link a while back about this family and their shock at an ultrasound...if you are interested, their babies are here...and oh, so cute!

42 years...

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!!

Cookin' with H...

Henry made individual apple crisp for last night's dessert. Here is a little picture tutorial he wanted to share with other toddlers... ;)

First, ask your momma to get you 4 oven safe single serve dishes along with two apples...

After your momma washes the apples, watch her carefully as she takes the peeling off, slices & dices the apples...

It is always a good idea to follow behind your mom making sure she gets all the peeling off the apple...

Next, divide the apple slices into your 4 individual dishes..

Add water and a little cinnamon to each one

Next, in a small bowl mix your oats, flour, brown sugar and butter together...

It's a good idea to taste a sample to make sure everything is going to be yummy...

Next, have your mom add the topping to your dishes and put in a preheated 3 75 degree oven for about 20 minutes (you should stand back because it is HOT & DANGEROUS!)

HOT & DANGEROUS!

Once your mom has put the dishes in the oven, it's fun to watch the progress with the oven light on!

Sometimes helping out & putting dishes away helps the time to pass quickly while waiting!

Ta-Da!

Serve for dessert

Super cute baby shower!

Yesterday afternoon I was given a small shower by friends through our sunday school and MOPS. It was adorable...all black and white with some green and hot pink accents! The shower was so sweet and quite a suprise since this is baby #2, totally not expected at all. I am so thankful for the friends I have made since moving down here to Georgia (hard to believe it's almost been two years ago!). They are true friends. Thanks Tate and Jessica for all you did to make the shower so special! We have been so blessed!
