We headed out to the {fall festival} tonight...

With our little zoo crew!
Henry was a Zoo Keeper and proud of it!
He'd tell everyone, "I'm a ZOO KEEPER!!!" . There were lots of different activities and games to earn a piece of candy. But, in typical Henry fashion, he seemed to have a little bit of anxiety when all eyes were on him to step up to the plate and do the game. It's like a major deer in the headlights. clam up. stress out. Poor dude.
He also took his job of keeping Zebra, a.k.a. little bro in line very seriously.
:)

Henry in the kitchen again

I found these CARS cupcake liners so Henry was itching to make something :).
I've seen this 2 ingredient recipe around but decided to make it a 3 ingredient recipe and they are YUMMY.

 1.) Spice Cake Mix
2.) 15 oz can of pureed pumpkin.
3.) We added in chocolate chips :).
dump all ingredients into the mixer and scoop batter into muffin tins. 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
 yummy! :)
Fall time in your mouth :)
Happy Monday! :)

Henry humor

The other night I was hanging my shoulders low about something...probably folding laundry or cleaning the kitchen again for the 5th time (I feel like that's all I do) when Henry piped up and said, "come on Cadwallader, you can do it!" :)

The past couple mornings The boys have just been fussy. Porter obviously doesn't feel well but H has no excuse. We were getting ready to head outside when Henry turned around and said.."listen...no fussing! There is no reason for anyone to be fussing!"

I put this one in Facebook yesterday :)
"thank you momma for making porter and me lunch. Porter you need to thank momma too..." "well, momma, porter can't talk really good but he says thanks for lunch" :)

I hear "porter, you better make the right choice and obey" alot and "go get your momma, porter" alot too! ;)

{friday fun}.

To this little boy, there could not be anything more fun to do than play in the dirt.

He would play outside for hours if I let him....
Oh, Porter! Poor little guy. Teething, double ear infections and just overall feeling yuck. It's been a long week...for both of us! He's over it. I hear ya, P-man, me too! :(
And here's a comparison for your viewing pleasure.
 Yup. they are brothers! ;)
Have a great weekend!! :)

Allow change

2011 has been one of continual change. I will never forget this year. Never in this year have I had so many highs, lows, changes, structure, confusion, clarity, disappointments and sheer happiness. But, at the same time, I've never felt closer to Him than I have this year. I've had alot of growing up to do. There is alot I don't put on this blog for many reasons but I am setting down at this computer writing what God is pressing on my heart. I had no idea I'd write this post today but feel that He just wants me to.
As I was just sweeping and mopping my floors, I was praying today for my friends. I wouldn't say I'm one of those people who has tons of friends, I have lots of "sweet acquaintances" and then only a select few "friends". You know the kind, the kind who you can call in the middle of the night, they would do anything for you and always have your back. I'm so thankful for these friends. Some of these friends overlap as family and some of them I consider to be family. It got me thinking...some of these friends wouldn't be on my "top list" if they didn't choose to forgive me at times and allow me to change. We're all human but I've had my fair share of "sinful moments and choices" where some people could easily have thrown up their hands and walked away. But they didn't. That's powerful.
I guess what I'm trying to say is...do you allow people to change? or how you saw them when you first met them is how they'll always be "forever"?

Cute moment

Yesterday, Henry helped me in the kitchen while P was still taking a nap. I made apple glazed pork chops and Henry peeled and cored the apples (thanks Grammy and Grampie for the apple peeler...we use it almost everyday!). He was REALLY proud of himself. Porter woke up so I put him in the high chair With a little snack. It was cute when Henry took Porter's little new testament and gave Porter a bible lesson.

This is what he said...
"Porter...the Bible says...Children, obey your parents, for this is right. Thats in Epheswains. The Bible has lots of stories. God made us. You need to make the right choices!! Now, let's pray..."
It was so cute!! :)
Made my heart melt!

Fun on the farm!

Our computer has been acting up lately and I couldn't upload pics this morning so I'll try it from my phone :). We had a great time going back to Southernbelle Farms again and the boys had a blast! I took a lot of the pics while holding/watching Porter so rest assured he had a great time even though there aren't a ton of pics. He either sat in the stroller and just watched it all or "ran" around. Yes, he is practically running...already!! He and I also did the slide and he loved it!! :) the sand was a big hit too :)

Fall Days (iPhone pics)

The boys looked awfully handsome wearing their jackets for the first time the other day. It's been downright chilly lately!

Henry enjoying his coffee ( hot chocolate) and mashed pillows (marshmallows) ;).

Porter is our "class clown". He keeps us on our toes! Playing peek a boo with his lunch :)

With the chilly weather, we've been hanging out indoors. Enjoying a fort and a flashlight.

Happy Friday! We can't wait for Kit to be home and enjoy our weekend!

H & Z

Funny how fast things change in a few minutes. We were suppose to meet up with friends at Chic Fil A today but in a matter of a few minutes this morning, plans got canceled, rearranged and changed all together. We welcomed the opportunity for Miss Z to come over and play instead. It was a fun, laid back morning! Henry LOVES Z and it's too cute to hear their conversations. It's amazing the difference between boys and girls. I think Henry talks very well for a boy but it's always purposeful and for an exact reason. Z was SO cute and we talked about EVERYTHING this morning from how cute her boots were, to wanting to put on "moch up" (make up) and why I didn't have any princess toys or princess movies to watch! She was so cute!
Also, we've been noticing Henry the last week or so calling me, "Honey" and this morning he was doing it to Z. "Hey Z,Honey, you okay?" "You want me to get you some juice, it okay honey, I'll get my momma" ha! It was cute :)

Thanks for coming over to play, Miss Z! :)

Relaxing weekend

We had a nice laid back weekend after having traveled the past two weekends. Friday night we enjoyed Moe's for dinner and After we put the boys to bed we decided to "camp" out in the family room. I greatly enjoyed falling asleep right next to a crackling fire. So relaxing! Saturday Morning Henry & Porter came downstairs giggling seeing our bed in the family room. We enjoyed being all dogpiled together for a little bit and after breakfast the boys enjoyed jumping around and having a pillow fight before settling down to watch a car show. The rest of the day was nice and slow paced as we ran some errands, nothing too exciting but relaxing just the same! Here's a few pics! :-)

Caught up!!

Finally! We are unpacked, laundry is caught up and I think the boys have caught up on sleep! It's great to be home! Of course, for one whole day I didn't even see the boys except for meals. They were in the toy room rediscovering all their toys. And then...they were done with it Lol! They would rather "play" in the kitchen...see pictures below! :)

Where we've been

Last Sunday we loaded up right after having Porter dedicated at church and headed North to Lafayette for the week. My sister flew into the ATL airport on Saturday night to drive with me and the boys. What an awesome sister. I mean, if you could fly straight to IN, would you really want to drive 600 miles with a 2yr and 1yr old? The boys did really well overall and it gave us many hours to talk! :) Thanks, Amy! You rock!! We are headed back today just in time for a busy week ahead! Check my sister's blog Here. for a few pictures!

Before & After:: {Exterior Paint}

Well, we got the exterior house painted this week. I'm excited to show you the reveal...The house needed alot of maintenance that HAD to be done and by the time we looked at everything, it would need to be repainted since the caulk wouldn't have blended with the paint, the stucco needed repaired, etc. So...we decided why repaint it the same? It was time for the house to have a little life put in it.
BEFORE
 AFTER
These were our painters and they were an AWESOME group of Christian Men. "Mr. Skip" is holding Henry and I told him I'll have to hire him back for a babysitter. :) Henry took to him the most and they were inseperable all week. Skip even let Henry do a little painting here and there...Henry was in HEAVEN. If he wasn't being " a really big helper" ;) he was playing in the dirt telling them all his construction toys. He is definately going to miss seeing and I know will be asking why they aren't coming back! The boys LOVED them all and we highly recommend them!

Before and After {Porter's Haircut}

it's been a little busy this week so sorry I never posted Porter's haircut pictures. It was long and time for a cut but I am a little sad. This was a compromise because Kit has wanted it cut for a long time. I said he needed to be a year and have his One year pictures taken before it got cut. When both those were done, I knew it was time. The WW I posted was actually taken the weekend before so he's not just wearing a hat because it's a horrible haircut! ;)

 Porter's "party in the back"
From the back of a shopping cart we were getting "what's HER name?"
 not feeling the camera :)
 AFTER
he definately still has natural waves in his hair :)
He's a walking machine and his balance is getting MUCH better! :)
