a kitchen tour

This post is mainly for family who I know have waited to see pictures of the house! ;)

I realize I haven't blogged much about the house. Really, there's not too much to say about it. It's working well for us, starting to feel more like home and we are so thankful for it! It is the most glamorous of houses? No, it's not. Does it meet all of our needs...absolutely! We looked at so many houses the weekend we came to find one and this house was the very last one we looked at. It trumped every other house we saw! So many had NO yard, teeny tiny kitchens, few bedrooms and no extra toy room/place space. We feel so blessed and absolutely love all the outdoor living the neighborhood has to offer with trails, swimming, fishing, boating, etc. The boys are LOVING it. We have tried out lots of little pocket playgrounds around and still have more to find! Right now tho they greatly enjoy all the FROGS (see post below) in our very own backyard!!!
So on a rare occasion my kitchen is actually fairly clean. With a family of 5...this is a rare thing. I feel like I live in here all day long somedays. It is smaller than our other kitchens we've had but we definitely still have enough countertops & space.

Super heroes & Sprinklers

Wells' FIRST birthday

I'll pretty much let the pictures do the talking. We started off having mini cupcakes for breakfast and the celebrating continued all day! :). We grilled out in the evening and enjoyed some yummy blue treats. Thank you to everyone who made sure to make Wells' birthday was extra special and mailed him a package or card. We had a lot of fun lovin' on the birthday boy!! :) I can't believe my sweet little baby boy is now ONE!

A frog story

On Friday the boys had the absolute complete boy joy to catch not only one but TWO frogs. At first it was a little tiny baby frog and they had the best time with it. Until we went to the pool for the afternoon and when we came home baby frog was dead. But not long after they were in the back yard H yelled inside the door...this time I caught a REAL frog. Only for me to realize this one was quite a bit bigger. Poor frogs. That thing was squeezed and shook and had quite a ride in trucks and cages and water and wheelbarrows and that frog was EVERYWHERE. Then, we geared up for a evening bike ride. H came to us quite distraught saying his frog was "stuck" in the watering can. I knew the hole was really little so I didn't pay much attention bc there is no way that frog would fit in there...so I thought.
But what do you know...the boys had managed to shove that frog into a tiny hole.
I asked..."wasn't it hard to shove him in?"
H looked at me and said, "no mama...it's hard to shove him out!" Kit & I had a good laugh over that :-).

But we left the frog alone and laid the watering can on its side. The next morning the frog was gone and we were so excited he found his way back home.
Until yesterday when we were playing outside to notice the frog was bACK in the watering can. Oh my. Listen here froggy, I can not guarantee your safety!!
So the boys are delighted to have a "pet" frog. Lets hope he hops away! :)

Wells is {ONE}!!!!

Wells Grey-

I started typing this post a few times this week. I really don't have the words to say what it means to me to have you as my little boy! I still remember that moment, one year ago, when they laid you on my chest. The first baby of mine that I got to hold right away. Oh my. Heart melting unconditional love. I couldn't believe it. You were MINE. And you were so cute! I remember being all alone with you in the room and telling you that, your poppa and I, we would fight for you to find your place in this world. You are now on our team :).

You made us a family of FIVE. F-I-V-E. Wow. I'm going to be honest. FIVE has been a little cray cray...or maybe that's just the year we've had with relocating and such? Hmm...anywho...

Having my 3rd boy, I pretty much knew how little boys worked. Or did I? You are the SWEETEST thing I've ever met! Overall you are pretty quiet, laid back and have the gentlest spirit! Which can I say has taken me back on quite a few occasions? You are the complete opposite of your brother Porter who was constantly fighting to keep up with H at your age. You are always taking it all in...and trust me..you've got a lot to watch with two other brothers! That seems to give you lots of entertainment.  Lately tho, I can see the wheels turning... figuring out just how to gain control of a toy situation with your brothers. Oh boy do you know how to get them fired up!! :)
And they love you, oh how they love you. Anytime you are crying, or have slept a little longer than usual or we are getting our shoes on to go somewhere, a little voice will say, "we can't forget about Wellsie!" Henry prayed this the other day, "Dear God, thank you for this food, and for the sunshine. Please be with Wells. Help him to grow up so he'll stop grabbing my hair. He really hurts my hair, God." haha! So sweet!

I don't know how many times I stare into those dark chocolate eyes of yours and say out loud, "you are so. beautiful."

You are so precious to us and I can't thank God enough for placing you into our family and we can not wait to see how the Lord uses you.

All this to say...
Momma loves you
Poppa loves you
Henry loves you
Porter loves you

you are loved and adored and we are blessed to have you here with us. Praying for many many more years with you, son.

Love you my Wells Grey,
Momma

Mother's Day Weekend

We loved all the beautiful weather this past weekend and spent most of it outdoors. Bike rides, planting flowers, dinner with the family and lots of play time. Perfect Mother's Day weekend!

Porter said it was "too heavy" ;)

Sunday morning was a rare treat of powdered donuts for breakfast. Wells enjoyed them for the first time ever and I think had too much fun running his hands through his hair. Looked like lots of baby dandruff ;)
The classic Mother's Day picture? Well, I had left my camera on manual mode since I was playing around and Kit just turned it on and clicked away. Never thought about it. Soooo those are all extremely over exposed and virtually impossible to make any of us out! haha!! Oh well...we had a good laugh over it! :)
Hard to believe it's Monday already and hard to believe Wells' FIRST birthday is already less than a week away. Time, I am begging you....please slow down!!!
