Entry Way {Before & After}
So...those who know me really well know i've been looking for a piece for my entry way since...well...since we moved here 2 1/2 years ago! I've had several things in that spot and the most recent is from the picture below (I forgot to take a 'before' of the area) but saw this picture and I think it gives you a good idea. When we were first married I liked to be matchy-matchy. That is no longer the case. Now, I'm about deals, bargains and thrifting to furnish my home. I'd rather take a chance on something for cheap and if it doesn't work out, sell it than thinking I have to hold onto it for a lifetime because of how much I paid for it. Anyway.... I've been looking for a while! :)
Last Friday the boys and I were planning to stay home but it was such a beautiful day out, I decided to head over to church and let Henry play on our churchs' playground. Leaving the neighborhood, I noticed one of my neighbors was having a garage sale. I spotted this piece but we were on our way out. Well, when we came back in, I still saw the piece sitting in the driveway. I hopped out and asked how much. Long story short...I bought this table for $10.00.
A little removal of the hardware, a little sanding, and it was time to paint...
First coat...
Ta-DAH!!
New Paint & New Hardware.
Added some letters to the wall...everything else I had.
I love THIS BLOG. Ever since I saw THIS POST, I've been wanting something in my house that color. It was a perfect piece to try it out on, and I LOVE IT!!
I'm learning the secret...being patient and waiting for that good deal to come along. Unfortunately, that is the hardest part for me! But, so rewarding when it does finally come along!
Overall Cost:
Table $10.00
Paint: $4.00
Hardware: $9.00
Letters: $9.00
= $32.00 and a totally new feeling when you walk into our house
LOVE IT!!

Just not feelin' it?
Here are two cute boys that were NOT feelin' getting their picture taken together. Porter was all smiles when he was by himself and Henry LOVED the idea of getting in a picture with Porter, until it was time to sit close! Then the "Porter touchin' meeeee!" started and Porter was not feelin' having to share Miss Tate either. This picture cracks me up!! Oh well...maybe...someday...we'll get a good one together! :)
It's raining and it's dreary here. We had a busy, busy weekend and we have two overtired boys to prove it!
So we aren't going anywhere and I have a couple of projects to work on today.
I am so thankful that today and everyday i can say....
...the joy of the Lord is your {MY} strength.
Nehemiah 8:10
this is cute!

Since I left you all hanging!
So...I just realized that on my wordless wednesday from here that I never explained it!!!
Well...long, long, long story short. This is a very, very, very sweet girl Rachel who God is using is mighty & awesome ways!! She is a friend of my friend Tate. I met her when she came to church one evening and spoke to our Women's ministry. She talked about her struggle with weight loss and making a choice to FULLY rely on God. I don't even know if I can do the whole story justice but I want to make a little plug on here. After struggling with weight loss all her life, she got an awesome opportunity! She is going to be on a BRAND NEW SHOW coming on May 30 @ 10 p.m.....
This is sweet, beautiful Rachel
...You may have heard something about EXTREME MAKEOVER: Home Edition? Well...this is going to be.....
.... a few weeks ago my friends Tate & Jessica & I
acted like a bunch of giggly teenagers as we thought about what we were going to wear, how to do our hair, etc because there is a CHANCE we might be on TV! I'd say, you probably won't see us but Tate was too funny. she is REALLY, REALLY good friends with her so got us up to the FRONT line...right by the stage....I'd be suprised if weren't seen. It was funny..the whole way there we were thinking how fun this was, a chance to be away from the kiddos for the afternoon, we all looked good...and then we arrived. Rachel is 21 so the majority of the crowd was girls her age. Wow. all the sudden we felt O.L.D. Funny how a few minutes earlier we thought we were IT! LOL ;) (We really need a new picture of us! This was at my baby shower last summer!!)
Remember when we went to the Farm HERE & HERE?! Well, it was taped there and us girls along with probably 300-400 people were there too for the taping of her big reveal. She looks AMAZING now ya'll. It was EXACTLY one year from when she started at 399 pounds to her weigh in. A-MaZ-InG! Her hard work has paid off big. So proud of her!! She was extremely beautiful before and now..well, you'll just have to tune in to watch! I can't wait to watch the show because it's a whole year of her life into 1 hour. I have no idea how they are going to edit all that. All I know is that producers are being saved, and God's name is being praised because she has reached so many through this year in her life!! awesome!!
So...don't forget...May 30th @ 10p.m!!!

Catching up!
We have been enjoying this weather so much!!! Lately, I know I have had a picture on here daily but alot of times they are preloaded so I feel like I haven't "talked" on here for a while! ;).
Big news, big news...we now have a Wal-Mart!! Little, tiny, blink and you'll miss it town of Locust Grove has a Wal-Mart. And...it's the cutest little Wal-Mart I've ever seen. Seriously...it's SO small. I guess it's something new they are doing for small towns. I like it. I mean, I'm not necessarily a Wal-Mart girl but I like that it has all the basics and needed items...not just aisles and aisles of fluff. And, of course, opening day it was brand spankin' new clean and every checkout was open. So, it was fast and they were friendly. Doubt that will last long but the boys and I had fun checking it out and they sent a $5 giftcard to all residents to come and check them out. Of course, we had to take them up on free $5!! :)
For whatever reason, I have been busy every night. I never usually am gone in the evenings but this week for whatever reason, as soon as Kit has walked in the door...I have 30 seconds to tell him what's up for the boys, that dinner should be ready in a matter of minutes and I'm running late for a meeting....
So...tonight I thought I'd do something special for him. I sure hope he doesn't read this blog today...he never does but watch...today he will!! LOL :)
Another couple from church volunteered to watch the boys whenever. So, I called them yesterday and got it all set up. I hope to run the boys out there and back before he gets home. A little surprise for him! It'll be nice to go out to dinner and talk in complete sentances!! ha! :)
Yesterday, we all wore our green for St. Patty's Day and the boys even had green bath water for the special day!
Porter is sitting up well but still scares me in the bath so I brought his Bumbo up. The first bath with him sitting up. He LOVED it!! I think you'll be able to tell by pictures! :)
Oh and Porter is STILL sleeping this morning. I'm about ready to go wake him up...last night was the FIRST night unswaddled and he did FABULOUSLY!! I know, I know, I'm weird. Some people sing their baby to sleep, some people give their baby a pacifier to sleep, some people rock their baby to sleep....I love to SWADDLE mine!! But, *Sniff, sniff* he's such a big boy, it is time to stop and put away my piles of receiving blankets... :(. I sure love me a baby burrito!!
Enjoy some pictures....
This picture cracks me up!
Such a cute expression on H...
umm....Porter...you have a tail by your nose! haha :)
Have a great weekend

Learning with Henry
I thought I'd do a little update on Henry since I feel like I've been putting alot of updates on here of Porter. This week has been BuSy!! It seems like everyday we've had somewhere to be every morning and every night, leaving just enough time for naptime...which isn't that big of a deal until I relaized it wasn't just any 'ol time...like we needed to be leaving the house by 9am everymorning...umm, we don't usually do that! So, we are all a little tired! The boys usually don't get up until 8 or 8:30 so feedings, getting two little ones dressed and out the door by 9am...wowzers! haha. I know you all reading this with 2+ children are laughing at me but it's still an adjustment with two!
Anyway...
We normally aren't that busy and I still try to take advantage on one on one time around here and so when Porter is down for his morning nap, Henry and I spend a little one on one time and do some fun learning!
Here's a few things we are up to!
BTW, I thought of none of this...thank goodness for blogs...they are great for ideas!!
ABC's...we are getting there. He missed a few letters but for the most part...much improved!!
We still do weekly letters, too!
Henry LOVES the color bath fizzy-things my mom got him for Christmas (and such a hit they showed up in a little package for Valentine's!! I think I might need to get him some for Easter!!) so this was with my icing gels (Instead of food coloring). He LOVED this. I just dipped a stick with the gel color and let HIM put the stick in the cup and stir...he loved that HE got to make the color change and then he told me what color it was!!
Umm...You are looking a little TOO grown up here, Henry!
This was something fun I found on someone elses blog and I'll tell you a little something... On her blog, she has two girls so she did this with cute beads and threw some glitter in. Umm...we had none of that...we have BOYS around here! LOL. So...umm....after searching the hosue...we used Pens caps! LOL :). But, what I did was fill a gallon ziploc with water...drew a line now the middle of the bag. We had fun moving the pen caps over and said, "RIGHT", "LEFT" and counted the three caps, too. It was too easy for him to use his fingers to move them so I grabbed a popsicle stick and that was fun for him to use too.
This kept him Busy!!

We are...
...DEBT FREE!!!!!
We were ready to shout it from the rooftops when we made a final college loan payment today but instead called my parents and yelled it into the phone!
:)
We are so so so so excited and of course, humbled!
Our Finances aren't ours anyway...they are God's and we couldn't be more grateful!
I am so thankful for such a great husband who is an awesome leader for our family. There are many times I was ready to forget the idea of being debt free but we continued to trudge along with Kit's leadership and God's grace.
We are thankful!!
{Making the most of what you got!}
So...I am definately NOT the most organized person but boy, we sure try to be...and, I feel like we are getting there...somedays...
Our house is definately not large by any means but we are thankful for it! I'm trying to utilize every inch we have because we have added two little ones since we moved in! :)
So...it all works better when there is a place for everything. It's as simple and as hard, as that!
Anywho...
Kit put this up for me last spring and it's the best little project we could have done! This is right after you walk through our laundry room...this in on the left, the pantry is on the right and the kitchen is the next thing you walk into. Keys, sunglasses, out-going mail, purse, hats, little jackets...all have a place! And, Henry knows it has a place so we can hang his little backpack up, too! It's hidden, too, which I like so visitors don't see and it's convenient as we are walking out the door/ coming back in....
This is what I actually wanted to show. Something we've had that we just weren't utilizing. This barrister was upstairs in our bedroom. Holding books. that we never read. So...we brought it down here. This area is "suppose to be" a eat-in kitchen...ha!! There is just really no room so we always eat in the dining room. Which I love having a dining room so it's not a big deal. Anyway...we brought the barrister down here...I bought some baskets (same ones we use in the toy room) and we each have one. Love. LOVE. LOVE!! Simplest thing ever. BIG help and GREAT change. Since all the bedrooms are upstairs but we LIVE on the mainlevel...it's nice to put burp rags, bibs in Porter's baskets and socks, hats, etc in Henry's baskets. That saves me many trips upstairs and also doesn't take up my kitchen drawer space. Kit can throw his wallets and papers in his and I keep receipts and journal, etc in mine. We also have a church basket for our studies and lesson plans. It's great. I love it. Wish I would have thought of it sooner!
I think the total cost was: $35 for baskets

68 years!!
68 years my grandparents have been married!
WOW!
Probably almost all of you who read this blog already know but, my Grandma has been in the hospital since Wednesday. She was to be discharged today but it didn't happen. They've delayed it. I know my Grandma just really wants to leave the hospital and go home...
This is the frustrating part about living so far away.
My heart is in Indiana thinking and praying for my Grandma...I just wish it was just as easy to get our bodies there, too!
Us at Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa.
Grandma Meeting Porter for the first time.
Grandma & Grandpa.
I see so much of my Grandpa in Henry!
