gettin' ready!

I am getting SO excited for thanksgiving!!
I've had fun cleaning and decorating and just got word that my sister and her family left last night instead of early this morning so they willl be arriving earlier than expected today!!
wahoo!!
:)
I'm not sure I'll be posting before thanksgiving so I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!! we all have so much to be thankful for.
I can't wait to eat that turkey (especially the way my brother-in-law makes it!) and all the fixins which my sister and I are trying our hand on this year...Memaw gets to relax and enjoy the grandkids!!
But, before we eat turkey we are doing a 5k...The Henry County Huffin' for Stuffin' thursday morning...Henry is signed up for the Tot Trot and I hope he does it...not sure if he'll do it by himself since he is so young...it should at least make for some cuuuuttee pictures :)
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Henry & his happy cake

Happy 28th Birthday!!

We had a little fun with crayons...
...and Henry & I did a little decorating

Kit Ryan...the birthday boy!
He enjoyed reading all the cards he received!
Blowing out the 28 candles!!

Kit & I LOVE Dairy Queen cakes...

...and apparently, so does Henry! :)

Henry enjoyed walking about the house saying, "Hoppy Burthday, Poppa!" but by the end of the morning he had already shortened it to "Hoppy Poppa!" haha. Everything was Happy! Happy Poppa, Happy Cake...haha :)

Yesterday, Kit went to church and I stayed home with the boys. They have just been having little colds and we didn't want to give anything to anyone nor receive anything else! :)

Last night was our Thanksgiving dinner at church and I was so sad to miss it. Kit had another commitment to do for that so afterwards we were able to go out to dinner and have a date night! I do NOT take date nights for granted! LOVE them and we SO appreciate it! Thanks Memaw!! :)

We hope you had a good birthday, Kit! :)

The boys and I love you so much!!

Passed over Holiday?

Today my mom and I were able to do some shopping and I'll admit that I haven't been out alot to stores since I've had Porter so it was so sad today to see nothing but Christmas with only a few little pumpkins and harvest decorations already clearanced out. Really? I feel like Thanksgiving totally gets passed over and don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas but Thanksgiving is probably my next favorite holiday. I love that it's not about presents, or some character/mascot but rather on truly being thankful and taking a moment to realize just how blessed each and every one of us are! So, before everyone takes down ghosts and goblins and starts to play christmas music and decorate trees putting their Santas in the front yard...I'm still REALLY looking forward to thanksgiving! I can't wait to sit around the table (MY HARVEST TABLE ;)) with my family and have some good conversation and laughs!!

23 months!

Happy 23 months, Henry!
You brighten our lives & continue to be a sweetheart...(most of the time)!! :)
You are talking up a storm right now!
You are grouping multiple words together and getting closer and closer to talking to sentences.
I can not believe that next month you will be TWO! Where has the time gone?
Time to really start planning your little party now...oh boy!
:)
You still sleep great from about 8 15p to around 8 30 or 9a
You take your afternoon nap from about 1 30p to 4 30p
You still enjoy reading lots of books
and right now all you talk about is bulldozers, excavators, skid steers and dump trucks!
You love your little friends and say your cousins' names all the time!
You love singing and you have started to memorize little scripture verses.
You are a helper and enjoy helping to set the table, put your little dishes away from the dishwasher and enjoy cooking/ baking.
You do get frustrated easily with your toys and it is a continual work of progress for you to bring the toy and ask for "help, please" rather than screaming and throwing your toys down but you are getting it and improving!
Your poppa really enjoys all the "southern manners" and it is SOOOO incredibly cute to hear you say "yes, ma'am" and "yes, sir". Makes my heart melt!
We love you, Mr. H!

Picking up Memaw

On Saturday we went and picked up from Mom from my cousin's house! It was quite a surprise to get the phone call from my mom stating she was coming for a visit! (Long story short...Kit was told he was going out of town on business this week but then after a long week, they have decided to cx) but my mom decided to come anyway and will be here until Thanksgiving! This holiday has been such a nice surprise. We knew after last year, it was just too crazy to drive for such a short holiday and we have been preparing to celebrate this holiday by ourselves here in good 'ol Georgia. It was such a pleasant surprise when we found out the Wx crew were coming and now my parents will be here, too! We will definately miss not getting to celebrate with Kit's family & Uncle Zach & Aunt Amber (as this year is with her fam) and we are so looking forward to our Indiana Christmas!
Double Trouble! :)

Check below...I did multiple posts...

I decided to snap this picture the other day as we were walking out the door. We all had some sort of blue/green/stripes on...
Let's just say...I have my hands full in more ways than one right now (Two under Two & Two that always need their momma at the same time!) and at this stage of life, I think I could give a lot of people a run for their money in an arm wrestling match! Lugging these two boys around, I definitely get my workout in...before I even start to do my formal workout! haha :)
But, I wouldn't change a thing...
Well, maybe daylight savings time!
DST... you have messed with what was the perfect schedule with two little ones! This has been quite the week of early mornings, short naps and overtired babies!

You've come a long way, buddy!

I was looking through my pics the other day and these were all taken the same day in November. What happened to my little pumpkin? All grown up!! :)

Drumroll, Please...

...Porter's longest stretch has been 9 hours...the past two nights!
(9P to 6A and then until 9A)
Yippee!
Way to go, Porter....keep it up, please! :)

(I took this picture of Porter a few days ago when he was waking up from a nap...all cute and smiley...until I picked him up...there was poo everywhere...so much so that I took the outfit off and immediately soaked it but the onesie...I cut him out of it and just threw it away! yuck! )

9 weeks

I meant to take a picture of Porter all day and of course finally got around to it tonight. After a full day...we are both beat!
Porter went to nursery today for the first time.
Unfortunately, he didnt sleep all morning or tonight for them. But, they said he was content and very smiley :)
Poor guy, I've never seen his eyes so red...wonder what that means for us tonight!
Porter's hair does have a slight red tint but I think this picture makes it look more red than what it really is.

Helpful Henry

Anytime I'm in the kitchen...
Henry is right there...ready to help!
I love baking him with...
cooking in the evening...not always so much.
Things are too hot and it's all ready at once so I usually have him help me set the table instead of working with hot food.
And unloading the dishwasher...I'm always amazed at how he knows where everything goes..
I love to bake and share time with him.
Hopefully he'll continue to enjoy it...in the years to come...
