I don't want to ruin Henry's surprise...

BUT, if you aren't in Henry's immediate family you won't be getting a personal Valentine in the mail from him but I did want to show you what he made this year and share through the web:).

I don't think I'll have time to post tomorrow so I thought I'd share a day early...

Speaking of Valentine's Day...my husband did something TRULY romantic for me! He decided to give me my gift a week early and I couldn't be happier! The man really does know my love for cleaning and it's pretty sad that I could be so excited over...
my VERY OWN carpet cleaner! That's right, I LOVE to clean and have clean carpet...it's amazing! Thanks Kit...I LOVE IT!!! :)

Sizes & Sleep

Don't even think about asking me to smile...
I've got more than one chin going on...

"Mom, did you see those squares move?!"

I am finally coming to the realization of just how big Henry really is. Yesterday, the outfit in yesterday's picture was 3-6 mo and I know it is a little "tight" on him. So, he has some 6 month things in the closet and thought I would try and see. Today's outfit is 6 month both in shirt and pants. WHAT?! He's only 8 weeks old! I filled up a box last week and put all newborn, and 0-3 in there. Everyday I try to put him in a 3-6 outfit just "one more time" but the majority are too short that I can't snap them or too tight in the waist for his big belly :).
Henry and I are getting better at napping and sleeping. I include me in that because I truly believe if I want him to sleep better at night, I need to put him down for naps BEFORE he fusses, otherwise he is too tired and it takes him about 5 minutes to fall asleep and wake up about 45 minutes into it, needing to put himself back to sleep. On the other hand, if I lay him down before he shows signs of fussiness, he'll fall fast asleep and stay asleep for the whole nap. For him, sleep = more sleep. Last night he broke his record of 7 hours and went 7 1/2 hours. Also, it was his first night in his big boy crib in his room. I wish I would have gotten the 7 1/2 hours of sleep, but instead I still kept waking up every 3 checking on him!
Some of his outright screaming in the evening has proven he is just exhausted and I think he has gotten himself "sleep deprived". If he is too tired and doesn't take good naps and follows that pattern all day (more than 1 or 2 naps), then he'll have a meltdown at night and just crash but won't sleep any longer...maybe only 4 1/2 or 5 hour stretches.
We are having alot of fun with him and while I know I obsess over his schedule at times, Kit keeps assuring me that it's only part of the fun! haha.
When Kit comes home in the evenings, he gets Henry from his nap, and is always assured a smile! I feed him and then that is just Poppa & Henry time while I am able to get a few things done and finish up supper.
Well, Happy Friday and hope ya'll have a great weekend :)

Me & Henry

I think my new little sidekick sure is cute! Today we went to a friends house from church for a play date! It was good to get out of the house and of course show off Henry!
His hair sure has lightened up and this picture shows it's not really dark brown like mine anymore!

8 weeks

Here's our big 8 week old! He has become alot more animated and last night we heard a quick little laugh! Of course, we tried everything to get him to do it again...Henry just stared at us like we were crazy! He's such a good listener and loves to watch your mouth when you are talking to him.

We went to MOPS again today and he was a big boy and went to the nursery. They said he did great! ;)

Cuddle Bug

I think a little somebody caught my cold and I've had quite the little cuddlebug on my hands today.

If you can't tell, he's holding on for dear life onto my shirt...

Just a little changing table talk...

Look how far he's come...

Henry wasn't sure about getting a kiss from his little cousin!

Look Familiar?!

This is how Henry likes to walk around in the evenings during fussy time.
One day I wondered where I had seen that before...

Guess Who's 7 weeks...

Henry has been such a blessing to Kit & I! He sure is growing fast and we enjoy seeing him smile and have alot of more control over his arm movements. He holds his head up really well and likes to stand with assistance. He's becoming quite the talkative boy when he wants to be...especially in the morning. We sure do love you, Henry! (I like to call him "Hen" for short...but Kit doesn't like that...maybe one day he'll be our little Hank! ;)).

Henry's First Indiana Trip

Well, a GREAT trip back to Indiana was had by all! We left late Thursday Night around 9:30p after Henry's last feeding and bath. He did great and slept the whole time except for feedings. He gave us another 6 hour stretch which got us through Nashville. We arrived at my parents at about 8:30a in time for his morning feeding. Then, Kit and I promptly laid down for a quick nap. Friday afternoon we drove to visit Grammie & Grampie and it was so nice as Kit's parents and Gima came, too! Grammie & Grampie

Saturday was alot of fun. My mom, sister and sister-in-law hosted an Open House for friends and family to come meet Henry! He was passed around and eeewwwed and aaaahhhhed over :). He did really well and pretty much slept the whole time!

Sunday we got up and headed to our old church for Henry's baby/parent dedication. It was great to see church family again and we are so thankful Pastor Ted & Sue were able to perform the dedication!

Poor Henry hardly slept very well on Sunday and probably from sheer exhaustion went 7 hours on Sunday night!
We got up on Monday morning and I fed Henry while Kit packed the explorer. Granny ran over to see how much Henry has grown(sorry, I didn't get a picture)! We left about 9:30a and arrived home about 8:45p. Henry did great; Kit and I weren't sure how the day drive would go but he was really good. We couldn't ask for it to go any smoother.
Of course, it wouldn't be Indiana without me getting a sinus infection. Today Henry and I have pretty much sat of the couch as I can't stop sneezing, my eyes won't stop watering and I can't stop blowing my nose. My loving husband brought me home a new tub of Vick's!

We plan to leave after Henry's last feeding tonight and see how it goes and just how far we can get :).

6 weeks!

I am 6 weeks old today! We celebrated by Momma & me going into Atlanta for her 6 week appt. I was a good little guy and slept the whole time. The office staff really liked me and Dr. Moore says I'm becoming quite the little "chub"...whatever that means.
I also visited our neighbors today to cheer them up as Jack had a heart procedure done. They think I'm cute too and loved my hair.
Momma & Poppa are finding out just how serious I can be at times but every once in a while I'll give them a smile.
Momma has been concerned about my bouts of cring at times but is finding out I just have a little temper :).
I take good naps during the day and can put myself to sleep. Last night at bedtime I went just about 6 hours. Momma was so happy!
Well, I can't wait to come to Indiana and meet everyone...look out, I'm a cutie pie ;)

He is our little Peapod!

Just thought you might like to see a glimpse of what Henry looks like right before we all go to bed at night! Tomorrow he will be 6 weeks old...I think it might be time for him to start using his big boy crib. (*sniff*, *sniff*) Anywho,we are BIG fans of swaddling around here and when Henry was 3 weeks old he outgrew those receiving blankets you buy at the stores. So, my Granny had made one which worked for another week or two but he outgrew that one, too! Solution?! I called my mom and she promptly went and made some bigger ones for us! YEAH :)
Thanks Grandma!

And, these are fabulous! (They were also sent in Henry's little care package) Of course, I say "Oh, Henry!" about 100 times a day ;)

He IS Brilliant!! :)

So, I'm not sure what the "rules" are for rolling over but, to us...he's finally showing off just how brilliant he really is! hehe :)
