After touring the aquarium, we went upstairs to celebrate Lincoln's 3rd and Coralyne's 1st birthday! We enjoyed some behind the scenes tours and a visit from the aquarium's mascot! The cakes were adorable and it is was such a fun afternoon with friends. We all left the aquarium tired and Henry didn't even wait until we were out of the parking garage to fall asleep...he was so tired!

BiG BoY HaIrCuT
This afternoon we took Henry to a SuperCuts down the road to get his 2nd haircut. We had to laugh as Henry did 100% better this time in an "adult" salon than he did at geared for kids CookieCutters! He sat in the chair all by himself and enjoyed watching the old lady next to him get her hair styled. I think it had alot to do with it being a quieter atmosphere and no other kids crying in the salon. He loved watching the hairstylist cut his hair in the mirror and giggled with delight when she got out the trimmers to shave his neck and around his ears. We are starting to see what a sweet, laid back personality Henry has (most of the time!) especially around others and out in public. It used to almost make him nervous and anxious when out in public but he seems to be outgrowing that and will smile and "talk" to strangers now.
After the haircut we went to a local park and enjoyed our near 70 and sunny day! We've all had a head cold this weekend but enjoyed getting some fresh air. Henry LOVED the swings but I think he might have loved going down the slides even more! I wish I would have thought to grab the camera...he was all smiles from ear to ear!

Wecipe For Wednesday!
We LOVE this recipe that we received in a church cookbook from my sister. This is a favorite for Kit and thought I would share!
Aaron's Favorite Stromboli1 loaf bread dough
1/2c butter, softened
2 tsp parsley, chopped
1 tsp chives, chopped
1/2 tsp oregano
2 T Parmesan cheese
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 lb shaved ham
15 pepperoni slices
5 mozzarella slices
Roll dough into rectangle approx 1/4 inch thick. Mix butter, parsley, chives, oregano, Parmesan & garlic. Spread on dough, reserving some for topping. Layer on ham and pepperoni laying slices of mozzarella on top. Roll dough up like a jelly roll and pinch ends closed. Brush remaining butter mixture across the top. Bake on a cookie sheet at 350 for 30 minutes. Slice & serve.
Note: Bread machine dough works great for this recipe.

Quick Morning Update...
... I got up early to put in a breakfast casserole that I am taking this morning to MOPS so thought I would take a minute to put an update on here before H wakes up...
We had such a nice weekend! We enjoyed eating at the Varsity (and running into people we knew!) and a LONG afternoon at IKEA. Henry did such a GREAT job and kept himself entertained by people watching and pointing out all the babies! :) We saw so many options for Henry's playroom and walked away with a better idea of storage to use, so we considered it a successful trip!
Sunday we finally made it back to church. We had missed a couple weeks with Henry's cold so it is always great to get back! Henry wore his Colts jersey (thanks to A. Lindsay & U. Troy) to church in the morning. The weather was so nice we spent the afternoon outside in the back yard (to which Henry was obsessed with the cabinet doors on the grill the ENTIRE time...oh, and the dog bowl!) and finally came inside at the start of the superbowl.

Ouch!, Thanks to Cousin Clint, Teeth & a walking clip
I have tried to avoid putting any pictures of H up recently but it'll be a while before his "scratch" goes away... On Saturday Henry was walking between Kit and I and when he was a step or two away from me and he went to fall... I tried to grab him with my left hand to stop his fall but instead, my thumbnail scraped his forehead! YIKES! Henry didn't even cry...

This just in:
Cuddly baby turns Rough-N-Tumble Toddler Overnight!
Wow! I would say on Saturday Henry started walking. By Tuesday he probably walked 90% of the day and hardly crawled. Yesterday and this morning he has sure been picking up speed and his new thing is trying to climb onto everything! Boy, when walking clicked, it clicked! Also, I had my back to Henry the other night while talking to Kit when all the sudden Kit turned me around to see Henry StAnDiNg up in his highchair LaUgHiNg!! These have been quite the turn of events recently.
Also, my camera batteries are charging but if you could peek into my house you would see almost all of my kitchen towels strung through our cabinet hardware to detur a little someone...I'm seeing cabinet door locks in our future!
Henry is quite interactive and has really began talking up a storm. He says, HI, BYE BYE, MORE, POPPA, MOMMA, UP, BALL and I think he is trying to tell us DONE at the highchair.
Animal sounds come whenever Henry would like to share with us :)
He and Poppa like to "wrestle" at night now and Henry really gets to giggling...it's so cute.
Parenthood is some fun ride, that's for sure!!

This weekend was a lazy one for us around here. Henry still isn't back to normal and we spent the majority of the weekend just wiping his nose. Poor little guy! It rained all weekend so we just stayed in and read LOTS of books to H. Is it bad that after reading the same book about 10 times we'd just put it away for the day? :) Henry got in some naps on poppa's chest this weekend too. This is very unusual for us around here but we enjoyed it!
Also, walking seemed to "click" this weekend and now he is a walking machine! I need to get some more video...it is so cute!
This morning we woke up to Sunshine! I was so excited we've already bundled up and went for a walk! It was so refreshing to get some fresh air :)
off to do some more laundry!

Feeling blue, bored and blah
That probably best describes the mood around here :). It was gorgeous the first part of the week, highs of 65 and we spent our mornings outside, walking around the neighborhood and hitting the playground. But, the last couple of days have been...rainy and blah! Henry cut another top tooth and is now working on his eye teeth. With all this teething he's had quite the sinus drainage too. This morning he actually got sick but I think it was just from the drainage. No fever, so that is good! I can't complain though, he really has been in a pretty decent mood for feeling crummy. He's even been helping me clean today by using the swiffer and vacuum. Henry is becoming quite the helper all the way around. He loves to throw trash away, pick up toys, brush his teeth and push his highchair back into the kitchen after we've eaten in the dining room...too cute!

There is not alot going on around here! We are taking it easy and enjoying some sunshine that is finally coming our way! The weekend started off by Henry & I having a lunch date and it was quite delightful. We usually only go out to lunch if we are meeting up with friends but I decided to take along my sidekick and we enjoyed nice conversation and yummy food! Yesterday Kit was so generous to be resident Mr. Mom for the day and allowed me to get some things done around the house as well as going out with a friend to the movies...that was quite nice! So, since it's hard to photograph the always-moving-monkey I thought I would give you a glimpse into the everyday naptime life of Henry...when he's done that is! After his nap, you can usually hear him talking up a storm and playing with his soft critters that reside in his crib. I'll give him a few minutes to play and by the time I go to get him, he has tossed all his friends overboard.

Monday morning kiss, anyone? :)
***
Henry has really started using his hands to communicate recently. He now waves properly, blows kisses and just this past week blew us away with using sign language! ha! We used it for several months but with the holidays and his lack of return signs I just stopped. I knew that I wasn't using them consistently and just decided to drop the issue. But, all of the sudden last week Henry started signing, milk, more, eat, all done, just like that! So, it's been fun to communicate with him using sign language!
Also, the weekend while we were looking at his touch and feel farm book and he was saying, "baa" for sheep, "wo, wo" for dog (woof, woof), na,na for horse (neigh, neigh)
too cute!

Intruder in the House?! :o)
This morning Henry and I had finished breakfast and started in on our day which means going back upstairs to make the bed, get dressed, brush our teeth, etc. We were up in our bathroom when I heard a man's voice. Alarmed I thought to myself, "I didn't hear the phone ring" and thought someone was leaving a voicemail. Checked the phone, no message left. So, we went about our business. Still upstairs, I was startled to hear the voice again! The dogs were barking, and I looked outside and no one was near the house. Thinking I'm starting to lose my mind, we kept moving along. Not much longer and there was the voice again! This time we stopped everything and I ran to the stairs. The voice was coming from the dining room! WHAT ON EARTH?! As I listened closer to the voice, I noticed it was manly and expressive. But what's that he's saying....an old Christmas story? HA! At that moment it all made sense....I had laid Henry's recordable Christmas book in the dining room that he had received from Mamaw & Papaw for Christmas and I guess it is sensitive to light so Papaw's voice kept turning on and off! Way to get my heart going this morning! ;)
The Culprit! :)
Here is what I kept hearing... :)

Happy New Year, lots of backdated posts & new teeth!
Happy New Year! Well, I think I am finally caught up! If you have a minute, feel free to scroll down and see what all we did on our trip back home. No wonder I am tired!! :). We made it home safely and yesterday and today we have been working on getting back to "normal". I think we are finally getting there! Today I unpacked all the Christmas gifts and found homes for them along with taking down all our Christmas decorations. Henry had a surprise for us and popped his front right tooth through Tuesday night and looks like more are on their way!
