1 week already?!

Yeah, I have visitors!
We enjoyed Mamaw and Papaw coming to visit! They were able to stay with us for the weekend but had to leave this morning due to some winter weather in the Midwest. We sure did enjoy having them come to meet Henry, see our home and Kit was able to drive them around town! Thanks again! We Love you guys and Miss you!!

Here is Henry showing off his NEW blanket from Grammie & Grampie! Thank you so much--I can't wait to meet you :)

I know we both look a little TiReD but we are lovin' our Henry!

Isn't he so CUTE!!! (Thanks Anthony & Harmony) for the outfit :)

Bath Time

Henry had his first bath at home...he didn't like getting his hair washed :(.

Hanging out with Grandma! (Henry loves his Doggy Fleece Blanket--Thanks Granny Great!)

Our little peapod!

1st Appt

Henry went to the doctor yesterday (friday). We got in as soon as we could. When Henry left the yesterday on Thursday he was a little jaundiced and also down on his weight. The pediatrician was very nice and Henry is already eating very well since my milk has come in and giving us lots of wet and dirty diapers which is want we want!! Hopefully his weight will start picking back up very soon :)
we scheduled his 1 month appt before we left and I can't believe that's January 16th

leaving the hospital!

Sorry I'm a little behind but here are pictures of when we left on Thursday. Henry was a great little traveler....it took us over 1 1/2 hours to get home. Gotta love that Altanta traffic!

For those who want the story...

So, here's the quick low down for everyone wanting to know. If you don't want to know any "details" please look away :) haha
Tuesday at 1 am I woke up with a "real contraction" but quickly went back to sleep. Another contraction woke me up at about 3 30 a and so I decided to get up and go to the bathroom and time them as to not wake Kit up. The contractions were stronger than what I had previously felt but were very inconsisent so after losing sleep for an hour, I decided to go back to sleep. I was pretty much able to sleep here and there until Kit's alarm went off and decided maybe I should pay a little closer attention to them. We timed them but they were about 10 minutes apart. Finally, I decided to call my doctor's office to see what to do since I knew I was already 4 cm/100% effaced at my appt last week.
I spoke with a nurse on call who received wrong information so when she thought I was 36 weeks she told me to drink water and lay on my side. When I questioned that stating I was 38.5 weeks so told me to go to the hospital ASAP so I could get started on pain meds.
I jumped in the shower and of course the contractions were ramped up so I agreed we should go to the hospital, knowing that I would probably stay knowing that I had already progressed. My parents came on Sunday evening and my dad had just left early that morning to get back to IN in time for work. Unfortunately, he missed the whole event!
Anyway, since my mom was staying with us I told her to take her time getting her shower and then we'd head out after that. While waiting my contractions really increased in frequency but I still wasn't convinced that I was in labor. The hospital drive was right at an hour and we had to take a couple of detours around the interstate due to automobile accidents. We arrived at the hospital a little afer 10 a.m. I was checked into a room and the nurse checked me to which she exclaimed she was going to have another nurse check me also because she was not convinced I was so far dilated. Sure enough, a couple nurses later, confirmed that I was indeed at 9 cm. They were all amazed at the fact that I was so far along, sitting up in bed and without pain meds. It didn't take long for the contractions to start coming back to back. Dr. Moore came in pretty quickly and at 9 1/2 cm broke my water. About 20 minutes I was fully dilated and definately had the desire to push. That is where the tricky part came in. I pushed for over 1 1/2 hours without Henry really moving down anymore than he already was. So, at the very end...Dr. Moore did have to use a vaccum to help me. Henry was just about as big of a baby that my body could stand. About three pushes about that and he was here!
It has truly been such a peaceful transition! Henry is such a blessing from God and Kit and I are overwhelmed at God's goodness and have been blessed by his supernatural birth story!! There is no way without the grace of God I would have been able to deliver without pain meds!! So many times while I was in labor and trying to focus on pushing through the pain I was reminded just how much pain our saviour went through to die on the cross for us b/c how much He loves us! Just the same, I would go through labor again and again to have Henry here with us! He is such a sweet bundle of joy and this whole experience has been truly amazing!

We're trying to keep 'em coming!

Most of you already know the story but yesterday was my neice's (Mallory) birthday! She turned 10 yesterday! My cousin who also just recently relocated to Georgia and we shared the same due date had her little girl yesterday. We both had the same OB and the kiddos were born 33 minutes apart so our OB had his work cut out for him going back and forth between our rooms. The hospital staff really enjoyed the story and that made it alot of fun; especially since we have so much family in Indiana!

Here's some more for you!!!

Latest Appointment

So we just got back from my appointment and all is still going well :). I have progressed now to 4 cm dilated/cervix 100% effaced. The doctor was quite shocked I am at 4 and still really haven't felt anything. I am still just feeling "crampy" on and off but nothing too exciting. So, we had a few different options placed in front of us and we chose to do nothing and just continue to see how I do on my own! We could have been induced on Tuesday morning but declined and went ahead and scheduled another appt to see him in the office on Thursday. Hopefully, we won't be making that appointment and the baby will already be here but, we'll see!
I am still really wanting to go into labor on my own and the whole experience. I know that scares a certain number of people along with my husband since the hospital is a good hour away but I really want a very natural labor...as much as possible. We'll continue to take it one step at a time and will consider having my membranes stripped at the next appointment, if no progress has been made...
I'm thinking this weekend would be nice as Kit then has enough time off after the 15th and I would hate for him to have to return to work for just a day or two!

Quick Update

So, today I have another doctor's appt. It isn't until late this afternoon so I'm not sure when I'll get an update posted on here. I'm very curious to see what the doctor has to say! There are a few different scenarios I could see happening so we are taking things to go to the hospital just incase. If I haven't progressed any further I would like to try to go into labor on my own but I know he won't let me go for another whole week...so, we'll just have to wait and see.
I am really glad I made it another week longer, letting the baby continue to mature and finish developing but we are both getting really excited to meet this little one!! :)
It'll be interesting just what we have as I am guessing a girl and Kit is guessing a boy. I say the baby won't be much more than 7 pounds while Kit is guessing closer toward 8 I think. I say the baby will have just a little bit of dark hair and he's guessing the baby will have light colored hair!

No Go for Dec 7 date

Well, sorry to everyone that guessed December 7th! I am still at home and still pregnant :). We did have a very nice weekend and enjoyed it probably being one of our lasts before the baby arrives! The house is clean, the dogs spent a day at the "spa" getting their baths, nails clipped, ears cleaned, etc. I beat Kit in a couple games of Battleship and we both enjoyed learning how to play bowling on the PS3!
Anyway, all is well with us. Hope everyone else had an enjoyable weekend, too!!

Are you up for another poll?

Well, I took down the poll for "When Baby C will be born" since the earliest was December 21st. It's hard for me to list so many options on a poll so I thought I'd let you all leave me a comment with your personal opinions!
Feel free to leave me your answers under "comments" with everything you think...
Here's a couple suggestions:
*Boy or Girl?
*Date Born?

*Hair?
This way I will be able to know the name of the person who came in closest in each category!!!

DoCtOr'S aPpT tOdAy

Well today was an interesting day at the doctor's office. My BP is still doing great at 120/74 and my weight was up #5 (It must be the Dairy Queen Cake and Oreo Dessert we've been nibbling on from both our birthdays!). Anyway, long story short I am dilated 3 cm and my cervix is 100% effaced. I started out my appt seeing the Nurse Practitioner but after she asked me a couple of times, "are you sure this is your FIRST baby?" I ended up seeing Dr. Moore because they were both quite astonished with my progress already for being less than 37 weeks. They both couldn't believe the baby's head is "right there" (I've been saying that for a while now! :)). I've noticed occasional contractions on and off and didn't think much about it but while at the office they noticed I was contracting quite reguarly and asked me about them. I told them what they were feeling and noticing I haven't even been counting as contractions...they replied, "oh but they are!".
The Nurse Practitioner questioned my amount of amniotic fluid so we went over to the ultrasound room to take a quick peek and take some measurements. She was coming up a little low so Dr. Moore came in and recalculated and said everything measured just fine! The U/S was quick and I didn't look at it the majority of the time b/c they were measuring right by the *gender parts* and I refuse to come all this way and not be surprised!!! haha Anyway, the Nurse Practitioner and I thought it was really cool how we could see the rib detail and notice them already expanding and retracting as they prepare to breathe on their own here shortly!
So I finally asked them what all this meant and what they were thinking. The Nurse Practitioner guessed that I could go into labor within the next two to three days. I kind of laughed it off but then she started questioning me that we have our bags packed, car seat, etc. Dr. Moore also agreed than it could be that quickly to which I responded they better not get my hopes up and I'm sure I'll be seeing them next week for another appointment. He also agreed that that could be the case but said he knows I won't be making my appt after that, and definately not making it to my due date.
So, I'm glad that some progress has been made but not so sure the baby will be here as soon as what they say. Only God knows and we'll continue to take it one day at a time!

My new toy...

I thought it was cool you can see my wedding rings are engraved!

Here we are! We made it to December! It's baby month!! It's going to be a crazy month when you throw Christmas in there too and....a few other birthdays :).
I had a great birthday! Thanks to everyone for the cards, gifts and phone calls!

Kit surprised me and got me a camera! It's definately been alot of fun for me to play around with the past couple of days as we gear up for a baby!! I am so intrigued by the zoom on this camera compared to what we previously had. I'm not a skilled photographer or anything but hopefully I'll get better!

LaZy DaYs...

Don't you wish you could be this comfortable??

It's beginning to look a little like...

CHRISTMAS!!
Yesterday we decided to put up the Christmas Tree and I also decorated the mantle. We didn't put too much up because we'll have to take it down after the baby is here and I didn't want to be too ambitious!Italic
It was so awesome to have Kit's help and we also cleaned the house from top to bottom! I tell ya, you don't need to hire a cleaning service, just an engineer when you need things detailed ;) Today we are enjoyed that it is still the weekend and we've gotten things crossed off our list already! Kit finished the shelving in the baby's closet and with the weather being gloomy, the dogs already have a head start on naps...I think I might go join them ;).

We are so thankful for God's provisions for us, especially this year...
*This precious miracle of life we are getting so excited to meet!
*A FULL time position with CAT (they are now in a hiring freeze!)
*A quick sell of our house in Lafayette
*An awesome house provided for us in Georgia with the best location possible for Kit & I
*The time to get settled before the baby arrives!
*The opportunity for me to stay home :).

Well, the list could go on and on but we are so thankful for being able to see God's hand in our lives...especially the past few months!!

Love,
Grace & Kit
