FuN DaY wItH PoPpA!
*****
Today we have been enjoying having Poppa off work! It has been nice for me to be able to get some things done while I know Kit is entertaining Henry(and also squeezing in a nice nap!). Also, today was a first as Kit was able to feed Henry for the first time! He did really well eating breastmilk from a bottle; I wasn't sure if he would or not.
Also, Henry has a hard time sleeping "really well" during the day and after talking with the pediatrician he said it was fine during the day for him to sleep on his tummy, as long as we're in the room to keep an eye on him. Wouldn't you know, it was out like a light! (Of course he will still sleep on his back at night)

1 MoNtH ApPoInTmEnT
Well, we had a great appointment at the pediatrician's yesterday!
Here are Henry's stats:
Weight:11# 7oz
Length: 21 1/2" long
So, our little boy is definately eatin' good and growing!
He's in the 95th percentile in weight and 50 percentile in length
The Doctor said he is eating really well and happy with his weight. We talked to him about his moments of being Mr. Must Fuss and thinks he might have a small amount of colic and his rx some drops to see if that slows down his digestion process and help with any gassy pains.
So, I am going to start adding back in a small amount of dairy since the doctor didn't think it would hurt to continue experiment with my diet.
Also, come to find out Henry doesn't have a cold at all but rather just a hoarse cry from his bouts of crying.
He got a shot (His 2nd Hep B) which I wasn't prepared for but thought all 3 of us handled it pretty well :)

I can't wait for tomorrow.
Yesterday, I noticed the slightest hoarseness in Henry's cry and today his eyes are red and every once in a while has the slightest cough. I feel HORRIBLE about it, that he is just 1 month old and already has a "cold". We've gone out twice this week and he pretty much just stayed in his carseat with a blanket over him but wouldn't you know it, he's still got a cold. You can tell in the picture above how red his eyes are but I had to give a quick THANK YOU to Anna & Larry for the outfit...last week the pants were big. Today, I had to put them under his belly to make sure he can breathe :).
So, I can't wait for his appointment tomorrow to make sure he's alright and see how much he weighs, etc. But for today he's sleeping with a humidifier, getting saline drops and lots of cuddle time with momma on the couch!
I walked in the kitchen earlier and thought it was so cute that on one end of the shelf is Henry's little "coat" and on the other is Kit's!

What?! 4 weeks already?

We can't believe that Henry is 4 weeks old already!! Where has the time gone? We sure do love us some Henry :)
Today we had a busy day for us as Henry & I went to MOPS. It was quite an experience to feed him, get him dressed and bag packed while I also needed to eat breakfast, get ready etc to leave the house by 9 15am! I did enjoy myself and Henry did great! We even hit the grocery store for a few items before coming home.

First Sunday
Today was our first Sunday at church! Henry went to Sunday School and Worship today! He did great until about 5 minutes before service was over. He seems to wake up with really bad gas. I'm still trying to work on my diet and do different things. We had an awesome night last night and he seemed to be his normal self eating and going right to sleep not just crying out and being inconsolable. I've elimated dairy and I am questioning if peanut butter doesn't have something to do with it. I've tried those Mylicon gas drops but have yet to see any improvement with those. At least his 1 month appt is at the end of the week b/c this first time momma has LOTS of questions! :) :)

This New Year will continually be one of change. A new job for Kit and for me learning how to balance being a wife, mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, etc. I really wish in some ways there was a "how-to" book! I just feel really lost at times but I think alot of it has to do with the move down here, and having no girlfriend time at Starbucks or running over to visit family for a quick minute.
I know, that I know that God is in control and I AM thankful for this new journey that we get to go through...for whatever it is that Kit & I will learn through this.
For now, we are taking it one day at a time and learning something new everyday!!!
