DIY

The mirror project turned out amazing and makes the family room look "finished"!!
I am SSSOOO happy with the results!! :).
Thanks to Linda Kay for getting the wheels-a-turning on what to do with such a major piece in the room!
AND, to my dad & Kit for braving the tall ladder and making this plan a reality!!

Fun week with Grandma & Grandpa

(Heritage Park War Memorial)
***
What a fun week we've been having with Grandma and Grandpa! We've been to a few of the town squares around here (momma kept forgetting her camera) and done lots of antique shopping! I've been a good boy and enjoyed ridin' around in my stroller. Today we went to our "Heritage Park" and showed Grandma and Grandpa a few buildings that the city has perserved such as the old library, schoolhouse, a log cabin, the country store, etc. Momma finally remembered her camera and caught a few snapshots of our morning!

My new morning tradition...
mooching off of Grandma for some of her cereal!

We checked out the community garden..

Did a little swingin'

and a little slidin'
and saw a train up close...

Me with my Grandma & Grandpa
Here we are again
In front of the little log cabin

My First Spaghetti I ate all by myself!

Keeping an eye on Poppa's plate!
What a messy face

Boy was that gooooood!

Thanks Mamaw & Papaw...

...This morning when I woke up I spotted a Lion in the family room. Momma sat me on it and in no time I figured out how to get it to talk to me and push it around the room (by walking on my knees). Thanks Mamaw & Papaw!

Rain, Rain go away!

whenever we have company it rains. Well, this time that my parents are here it is not just raining but breaking records and flooding parts of the state! We are lucky and our area hasn't been hit too bad. We just have a nice red clay river in our backyard...

Anyway, when you are bored, stuck inside and have dogs and adults that are stir crazy, you come up with ideas like...using Gisele as a laundry basket sled dog for Henry or...

using Gisele as a laundry basket sled dog for Grover ;)

(Please note: no babies or dogs were hurt in the making of these pictures. Only the dogs' pride...)

Friday

It's FrIdAy!!!!
WAHOO!!
The only thing better about it being Friday is that we are expecting guests!!!
YAY!
I'm excited, if you can't tell!
We LOVE having visitors and love seeing Henry interact with family...
Henry, however, is miserable...
poor guy!
He is weepy, weary, cranky, snotty, tired, and doesn't know what he wants.
I think it's a combination of the flu shot & he is FinaLLy teething.
He just went down for a second nap and it's only 11 12 a.m.

Definately.not.himself.

Let's hope some company cheers him up!

{one can only hope!! }

9 months and Purdue Pride!!

9 months. It's amazing how God has designed us to grow and develop. aaa.maaaz.ing. The other day I went to look something up on the blog and before you know it I kept digging back farther and farther and couldn't believe my eyes how much Henry has changed. wow. I'm so glad I've taken lots of pictures and video :).
Today I've been organizing and packing away alot of Henry's "baby" thing and making room for big boy clothes and toys. I got alot of shopping for next year done thanks to children's place killer sale at the outlet mall...everything 1.99 or less!!
Before you know it, December will be here. Some have already asked me what kind of party Henry will have...ha! I have no idea...but it will be here before we know it!! :)
Happy 9 months to our handsome, happy Henry!
Oh yah... Go PuRdUE!!

9 month well check

Henry officially turns 9 months old tomorrow but we went to his Pediatrician today since Dr. A has the next two weeks off. He is measuring right on track and today his stats were
Weight: 21# 2
Length: 27 3/4"
He also got a finger prick to check his hemoglobin which determined he is low so we'll get him started on a multivitamin with iron and recheck in 3 months.
He received two shots, one of which was the 1st of two doses of the flu vaccine and so he'll return in one month to finish that up.
I was unprepared that I would be filling out a ginormous questionairre on his motor skills & development but am so thankful I was able to answer "YES" to everyone!
I snapped the pictures above after we came home and yes, Henry is exhausted! He still had a great attitude at the office for someone who completely missed his morning nap!
He is really pulling up all the time and on everything (except the stairs...he doesn't even notice them and has yet to try to climb them)!! He took a couple of hard falls trying to figure out how to get back down when he first started pulling up...but now it is so cute because he is ever-so-careful and precise!!

"momma, put down that camera!"
Watching the dogs playin'

Didn't know what to think of the leaves
Blowin' his bumbleberries and talkin' up a storm

All business!
Lookin' cute...I just love those chubby cheeks :)
Our yard is finally becoming a yard!! When we bought this house it was more patches of weeds and red dirt! Kit has put alot of time on this yard and we are enjoying finally being able to play in it!!

New

This post is mainly for our moms. It sure is hard to describe what things look like over the phone... ;) So, we thought we'd share a couple of items that recently make Henry seem like such a BiG BoY all of the sudden!NEW carseat
NEW Diaper Bag
(I do NOT like carrying around a bag the size of a piece of luggage just to go to church or run to the store when all you really need is a diaper, wipes, cup & a snack. So, after searching ...voila!!)

NEW things to eat! hehe :)

But, still the same sweet Henry!

A free moment to blog...

Things have been busy around here!! We are enjoying the extra long weekend and love having Kit home! Today I am still trying to get some of my Monday things done but also enjoying the relaxed morning with Kit. After bit we are headed north to Babies R Us. It is time to buy a bigger carseat for Henry. There are 1,000 different choices out there!! AAAHH. We have a few narrowed down and hopefully we'll find something that we are just as happy with as we were with his infant seat.
I am looking forward to the MOPS kick off tomorrow. Spent alot of time at church yesterday with services and setting up for MOPS...hoping to have a great turn out!! :)
This morning Henry was enjoying some couch time. And, as you can see in the picture he was tellin' me ALL about it! Gee, I just love him!! He's alot of fun right now and taking everything in!! I have enjoyed every stage with him but I'll admit the more interactive he gets, the more I love! He's had a little bit of a cold but there really isn't much to do for the little guy. He gets a medicated bubble bath at night, vicks vapor rub and his humidifier. :).

MOPS

As if moving away from family wasn't hard enough, trying adding a newborn in the mix! Shortly after having Henry I was invited to MOPS and fell in love with everything this program has to offer. MOPS is a ministry that seeks to provide community, mentorships, and practical instructions on parenting to mother of pre-schoolers. This ministry creates an intimate and accepting atmosphere where moms can shaire their successes, failures, questions, and concerns.
These girls have all become good friends of mine and I am thrilled to be apart of the steering team committee.

Back Yard Play

Tonight after church we were all in the backyard running around like crazy running off some energy before Henry's bedtime.

Henry LOVED chasing the dogs around. It's funny how the dogs have switched roles especially since food is involved! Grover is the most patient and tolerant dog since Henry has learned to throw over any unwanted bites from the highchair. He will willingly take any ear pulling, crawling over, tail biting and hair pulling in exchange for one morsel of food.

Gisele on the other hand has become quite distressed now that Henry can crawl right up to her and is often fearful when he comes near. She usually bolts from the room or runs upstairs to nap in peace.

Henry's new infatuation in with the dogs' chewing bones. Yesterday was cute when it seemed as though he almost understood the concept of trying to give Grover his rattle for the bone. :)
