Project Friday! {black door}

Happy Friday!
Just posting another little project we've done. Our house has lots of black accents especially in the kitchen! The pantry door was white and the same as all the doors throughout our house but it was sticking out like a sore thumb in the kitchen. So I decided to paint the door. It calmed down that corner of the kitchen and we like it!
I will admit I was very nervous to paint a perfectly good door but sometimes you just gotta step out and take the risk, right? :)

Before & After {entry way}

Well, here is our first project in the new house. I thought the best place to start was the entry way. Our house has a lot of black accents on both the outside and the inside.

So, black was speaking to me when thinking about this space. This picture was my inspiration

Kit taped off the stripes for me and I rolled the stripes on. The best part of something like this is that the cost was paint. Everything else I had! Wait, I take that back. The mirror is a recent purchase. But, everything else I had! Ha!
Before & After

We love it!
Happy Monday!! :-)

11 months

He's 11 months and in one way it doesn't seem possible and in another I feel like he's been with us always. I know I'm behind on monthly posts. But the pictures are stuck on my camera and the posts have been written so when I can combine the two, I'll get them added. Right now tho he's at such a cute stage. Into EVERYthing, super smiley, trying to climb and loves to dance anytime you put in some music. He's learned to scream when he doesn't want a brother to take away a toy, tries to keep up with them but will also just stare at them trying to figure out his crazy brothers. He's a cuddler and a pro at feeding himself now.

We love you, Sweet Wells!

A week in San Antonio

Last week Kit had an entire week of travel for work. The boys & I decided to pack up & head to my sisters for the week. I'm so glad we did! It made the week go faster & we are so excited to be near family!!! My nephew had a big hiking trip at the end of the week so the boys loved trying on the backpack and going to a few stores to finish getting a few items he needed...boy heaven!

We even got to have lunch with C&E at school one day! The boys thought they were BIG stuff :).

The bluebonnets are so beautiful we just had to snap of pic of dubs in the bluebonnets!

We got to go to Trinity University's campus to watch E at diving practice. Porter says he wants to dive someday! :)

Of course what would the week be without a trip or two or three...to Target! Ha!!

Having too much fun at REI

Playing at the park one night...Wells is a good kisser! :-)

It's been a month now since we've lived in the house and I'm finally getting the itch to start decorating and making the house more ours! Hopefully we'll get a few projects done soon and I'll start posting pics :) {beautiful tulips provided by the hubs}.

Kit has traveled every week since we've moved but THIS week he's scheduled to be home every night and we are all SO excited about that!!!

P {just because!}

He isn't the oldest, he isn't the youngest but one thing is for sure...there is only ONE Porter. He's energetic and giggly, silly and loud, passionate and fiery, love able and charming, sweet and a little dare devil.

Happy Easter from the Cad Crew!

So, I've started writing this post too many times to count. I know there hasn't been too many posts lately but I think it's safe to say there is always an adjustment period when moving and we still just have some things and routines to get figured out. It's been busy and yet boring for everyone that we just keep working at getting some sort of "normal" figure out! :-).
Anyway, while we do that and posts may be lacking...here are some pics from Easter. We had a great time and enjoyed the perk of driving only 3 hours to my sisters for the weekend! We ended up staying until last night because Kit had meetings in San Antonio all day Tuesday so that made it fun the boys and I could hang out with them instead of being at home! We had a great day celebrating our risen Savior! And...I knew better than to try for that "perfect" family picture. Isn't going to happen anytime soon! ;)

Texas

I can't believe all we have been able to get done. With the help from my wonderful parents we got the house almost all unpacked and put away while the boys stayed with my sister. That was a HuGE help!!! Then, they came Thursday night & brought the boys over and Friday we painted three rooms and a bathroom. (the former owners had four girls...pinks, purples, mint greens...had to disappear :)). Now this week is back to finding a "routine" for all of us. Kit back to work and me with the boys! My dining room has a mountain of boxes that need to be picked up and our office needs unpacked but pretty much everything else is in order. Just slowly I'll start hanging things on the wall and decorating a little here and little there :) below are some random iPhone pics :)

Popping in!

Just popping in to say that we are still here! It will still be a little while before I start blogging more regularly but I promise I will blog again! ha!

I have Wells' 9 mo post all ready to go but my camera is giving me fits!! Kit has found a way to get my pictures off the camera but it's a long, tedious, complicated process so as soon as I get those, I'll get it posted!

I'm so happy to say that until after we move to Houston, Kit should no longer be flying out. That is a huge relief to me as we are in the final stretch of our last days in Georgia. So very bittersweet. But we are excited about getting settled and stop living in limbo. Plus, I think all my boys are ready for better dinner meals. The going-through-everything-we-have-in-the-freezer is making meals a little interesting! ha!!

In other news? Are ya'll watching Downton Abbey? After seeing nothing but posts about it in my Facebook feed we decided to try watching it on Netflix. Needless to say...we watched the whole first season in 24 hours!! So good!! Now, we just need to get our hands on Season 2! ha!

Alright...have a good week!!! :)

Georgia.

Since we found out we were moving to Houston, the days have flown by. God has not just given us what we've asked for, He has gone above and beyond.
There is no way I can sum up in one post what all Georgia has meant to us, what we've gone through while we've been here and, how it will leave such a large imprint on our hearts.
When we moved (nearly 4 1/2 years ago) I came practically kicking & screaming. At 7 months pregnant, I was less than thrilled. But there were so many lesson learned, friendships made and babies born that I would.not. trade. Georgia. for. anything. I feel like in some ways, Georgia is where I grew up. Not only did I grow up, but grew in Him. So many things that I thought I'd never do, never face... I've done it. I conquered it. Not because of me, because of Him. And here we are, just four and a half years later. It seems like I blinked and our time here is over. Something I never wanted to happen, has left such a mark on me. Isn't that just like Him? God, thank you for giving me what I said I never wanted. Your plans for me always exceed my own. Thank You.

S-O-L-D!!

Well, it's amazing how God continues to blow us away! We ended up getting four offers on the house (3 within 24 hours) and ended up getting above what we thought! Go, God! Next step:: finding a house in Houston!!.... :)
