The Birth Story of Wells Grey

I usually have a long post on the birth story but this one is pretty short and sweet! (These are for my records, bless you if you want to read the whole thing!) I still can't believe it! My parents arrived in town on Friday afternoon. We went out to dinner and then Kit & I ran to the grocery store. We came home, unloaded groceries, Kit went for a run and we planned to do yard work on Saturday. Mom told me before she went to bed, "don't forget to leave a note when head to the hospital!" haha! I really hadn't had any contractions all day long...maybe two? We went to bed around 10:30p. At 2:11a I had my first contraction. After two hours of timing them at 8 minutes apart they switched to 6 minutes apart and I started vomiting. We called my OB who thankfully was on call (wahoo!) and told me what I already knew. I was in some serious transition and active labor and had better hurry to the hospital. I thought we were totally fine. 6 minutes apart. We threw a couple more things in our bag and were on the road quickly. Kit was concerned about his job of getting me to the hospital 45-60 minutes away. In a matter of minutes down the road they switched to 3-5 minutes apart and were intense. We arrived at the hospital a little after 5:15a. Kit checked me in while I ran to the bathroom and couldn't stop vomiting. The check in process was quick and our nurse met us in the hallway. Instead of doing a mountain of paperwork she put the baby monitor on and contraction monitor on and after learning this was baby #3 decided to check me. I was 8-9 cm and while having a cx, fully complete. She then just started asking as many questions as she could think of to forgo all the paperwork and paged other nurses to come set up the room. Dr. Moore walked in and I was 9 1/2 cm. We agreed and he broke my water and told the nurse to page when I was complete. It wasn't even 5 minutes later I said I had to push and Dr. Moore came in and hurriedly got dressed to deliver me. Less than an hour after arriving at the hospital, Wells was born @ 6:17am. He came out kicking, screaming and so pink. I hadn't ever had either boys placed on my chest because of their deliveries so it was such a special, sweet moment. We thank God for such a swift delivery and am so blessed for the whole experience. There is nothing like it!
Here are some pictures of our stay at the hospital!

Big brothers meet Wells...home again, home again

After being born Saturday morning, we left the hospital Sunday afternoon. I felt great, Wells was doing great and I  was ready to be home, see my boys & sleep in my own bed! :).
The plan was for the boys to come to the hospital to meet their brother Saturday during the day but Porter had a low grade fever so we didn't have them come up and because of that we are going through hand sanitizer like crazy and Porter has yet to touch or "hold baby Wells".

I have lots of video that some time I'd love to upload. Henry was ecstatic to see and meet his brother. He totally understood everything and was thrilled we brought Wells home. Porter was confused ;). With not feeling well, staying with grandparents, missing momma and poppa, new brother, he's got a lot going on so he's definitely had a rough 24 hours but is starting to warm up to the idea of "baby Wells". :)

Leaving the hospital. {freedom!!}

Mother's Day 2012

I had a great Mother's Day with all my boys yesterday. After receiving handmade cards, church and naps, we had the rest of the day to just play and enjoy the evening. We played hide n go seek, racing cars,  Henry gave me a check up & we had races up and down the side walk. :)

He is as long as a {leek}

I can't believe I am posting this picture but here is chubs cadwallader...38 weeks! haha!
38 weeks along and now we just wait on baby for whenever he is ready to come! :)
We have enjoyed all the guesses regarding baby boy's name!
Some people have some pretty good guesses and some have given us some good laughs! :).
I think the ones we have heard over and over are Harrison, William & George. Are any of those right? We'll have to wait and see!! ;)

{Run for the Bun} 5k

On Saturday, Kit & Henry enjoyed running to benefit the pregnancy resource center at the run for the bun. We have participated in this event every year and this year Henry ran in the tot trot. He was doing great until one of the "mascots" (older gentleman) dressed as a big baby squeezed beside him. Frozen stiff he was! :/. But he did run and finished and had a great time :). Kit did great too and placed 3rd in his category! It was a hot one and Porter & I were good cheerleaders. ;)

Big Brother Date Night- P's turn!

Last night was my date night with Porter! So, so fun. I made one of his favorites for dinner, Fettucine Alfredo. Then, we went out for a little shopping for baby & a new favorite of Ps...ice cream! :)
when leaving the house, he shouted "en-eeee" (Henry!!) out the subdivision and down the road as if we were forgetting him but soon warmed up to this idea of being out by himself.

He grabbed the exact same outfit H picked (guitar) for baby so I did help a little bit with persuading him to pick something else ;). Thought it would be cute to pass the title of "little brother" on down.
We did a couple other things but ended our night getting "i keem" as Porter kept calling it. We were actually at the frozen yogurt bar. Ice cream or yogurt, he loves chocolate!! :)
It was such a fun time with just my sweet P and he definitely had a smile on his face the whole time. Let's not forget too that if you even look in Porter's direction, he is not shy to yell, "HIIIIII!!!!" and wave really big. He could be a greeter pretty much anywhere, that's for sure!

A couple weeks ago he grabbed hold of a monkey lovie and so I got it for baby. But, last night he clung to the zebra "bee-bra" and honestly I thought this was a better fit anyhow. He's got some attitude and style, a lot like P, so it made sense ;).
Porter- you are such a joy and are always keeping us on our toes. I love your spunk for life and the ability to laugh and smile at everything! So incredibly proud to call you mine! Love ya, Porter Pie!

He is as long as a {stalk of swiss chard}

Had another great appt today. Baby boy is all in position and we had a little ultrasound to measure him and he's right on track to be about 7 1/2 pounds! So excited to be 37 weeks & FULL TERM! woohoo!! :)

Tybee {Family of FOUR} getaway!

This past weekend we took a little trip to Tybee Island, GA for a quick little beach getaway! We've been talking about doing a last little family of four trip and the weeks have flown by! We decided it was now or never before baby #3 arrives! We enjoyed having nothing on the agenda besides playing and playing some more :). This was Porter's first trip to the beach and he is in LOVE! Henry was hard to get a picture of because he was so serious about digging and building in the sand! ;)

 Upon arrival, Porter mesmerized!
 Enjoying the sand :)

 We even got to witness a wedding on the beach to which Henry responded, "I don't think I want to get married right now" ;)
 Me & the boys on the beach at 36 weeks & 4 days. I've now been pregnant on the beach with each boy!
 Walks on the beach.
 Henry said, "Thanks for bringing us to the big sandbox!"

Playing and playing some more :)

 After a long day on the beach, settled in for pizza & some curious George :)  (look...same pose!)
Hotel Fun!
I took quite a bit of video with the boys in the water, I'll have to try to upload later. Not quite working right now. It was a perfect little getaway! Now onto nesting like crazy and might I say, it's a bit more difficult to accomplish detailed cleaning & organizing with two little boys following behind you ;)

He is as big as a {bowling ball}

Had another great appointment today & we are so thankful!! His heart rate continues to be in the high 130s to low 140s and he is still very, very active. I can't wait to see the size of those feet that have been kicking me and poking out for some time now :). Now we are down to just weekly appointments...I can't believe it!
