Last night I did something I don't do nearly enough. Went on a date with Henry. Sure, Kit and I will often "divide & conquer" and each take a boy to run an errand but this was a little date. No grocery getting, no quick run to Sam's.
A date night!
Henry has been such a sweet boy lately and has been making such good choices, a super fun night was definitely in order too.
Plus, he's completely won me over with his 3 year old one liners.
"Momma, you'll always be my gwurl (girl)."
"You are my best momma in the whole world!"
"Thank you for sharing with me, momma, I know it makes Jesus happy that you are making good choices!"
I offered to take him out or make supper of his choice. He wanted to stay in. I gave him a run down of options and he heard Pizza and said, "Yes. I want that. Macaroni Pizza." I said, "you mean, pepperoni?" "No!" he responded, "Macaroni pizza!" I told him I had never heard of such a thing but after doing a quick search on Pinterest...what do you know? There IS such a thing. And, it turned out delicious! :)
After dinner we went upstairs to get ready and Kit took him to the bathroom and I could hear him telling him all the things he should do for me on a date. Hold my hand, open the doors, protect me, etc. It worked because he kept saying, "I'm obeying....I'm on my bestest behave." "best behavior?" "Yup, I am. I'm bestest behaving!" haha!
Plus, he came out of the bathroom wearing a little cologne and he was over the moon that he was such a BIG boy! :)
We took the time to get a lovie for baby brother as per our tradition, i guess, and walked out of the store with a little outfit with a guitar on it. Henry insisted baby wanted it and he would look handsome in it. Hey, I wasn't going to argue! :)
I'm really not a fan of stuffed animals. But, one of my great aunts gave Henry a puppy lovie when he was 6 weeks old and I started laying it beside him at naps. Henry attached to that puppy and it was always so easy to lay him in his crib because he was always so excited to see puppy. Well, before Porter was born, Henry bought him a bear. Now, Porter runs to bear at night too! So, therefore, it's only fair this baby isn't left out and has a lovie too! :)
We did a couple other fun things but we ended the evening with frozen yogurt and he just kept telling me how much fun he was having. So, so sweet!
I kept him out past bedtime and I could tell I the way home he was getting very tired but went to bed with a huge smile on his face.
I love you, Mr. H!
I think you're wonderful & I'm so proud to be your momma!
