Feeding Horses @ {The Strattons}

It's so sweet when people from church step in and become family. Dick & Dianne Stratton are just that. They've invited us many times to come over and I finally put in on the calendar and this morning we had a great time over there :)
We got up this morning and put our boots on.

We cut up some apples and carrots before we left and were on our way!
Henry & Porter were in heaven...the funny thing is...the horses didn't like the carrots. They must have a sweet tooth...they preferred the apples!

Henry quickly spotted the 4-wheeler and Dick offered up a ride. "No, thank you" quickly responded Henry but I just knew he'd enjoy it...if he would try it. This is what we've been wondering for some time and it rang true this morning...Porter wanted to ride. So, after little brother took it for a spin and Henry saw everything was good, then he rode it :)
And he loved it...then we couldn't get him off :)
The boys rode to go look at the cows. Okay, I've been around cows but I'll be honest...these cows were kinda freaky...they weren't very friendly and didn't have "happy eyes"...call me crazy but they creeped me out! ha!
This is how they rode around the farm...can you see Porter? haha!
The nosiest ducks I've ever met...frick and frack.
Thanks for letting us come and play and learn!!

Late & Random

So...it's a little late but I've been working on the computer most the night and thought I'd do a quick post because after sitting down and looking at our calendar for the week, well, I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to fit this in.
I am feeling MUCH better! Thanks for all the prayers!
We are gearing up for MOPS around here! That's right! It starts THIS Tuesday and I am excited! After taking last year off (P was a newborn!!) this year I'm back on the steering team and doing Publicity! These girls are so much fun and we are all looking forward to getting the year started!

The theme this year is MomSense. Mommy intuition + Common Sense= MomSense!
Learning how to be Bold* Loving* Sensible!
If you are reading this blog and don't yet belong to a MOPS group...I would highly encourage you to do so!!
You can go to mops.org and find a group in your area!!

This weekend we had lots of fun stuff planned plus I never had unpacked from our trip since being sick upon arrival! All I can say is, one day I'm running a 5K. This year I've pre-registered and paid before the race and have not being able to do it because I was sick...THREE times. THREE. My sister and I laughed that I am a dream participant! I pay and the race organizers don't have to do much work! oh my! One day this year....:)
But, we did get to do ONE fun thing this weekend! Saturday night Kit's work had a CATERPILLAR family day at the local Rock Ranch. I was feeling pretty good and we though it'd be nice to get out of the house! We enjoyed all the benefits of the Ranch (Truett Cathy's Ranch) from the food, concessions, animals to tractor rides. Maybe someday this week I'll be able to do a longer post on it. It was a beautiful evening and we all enjoyed ourselves!

This goat was no dummy. He knew he was about to be fed! :)
The boys and I in the good 'ole cow train!

Well, better head for head! The laundry and unpacking are calling my name tomorrow. Oh yeah! The fall decorations are waiting to come out, too! :)

Wise advice...

Porter had a magazine in his hand about ready to tear it up when Big Brother piped up..."porter, you better obey...and...make the right choice!" haha :)

Boys N Bubbles

Thanks Aunt Kenlyn, Uncle Josh, Jax & Rutly for the bubble machine!! It's a BIG hit :)

Porter's FIRST birthday::Part ONE:: Birthday Boy & Details

We had a great evening celebrating Porter's FIRST birthday and thank everyone who came! We originally thought it would be much, much warmer so we had to improvise on a new outfit for him and added Hot chocolate to the menu later because it was chilly! It's like it turned fall overnight! Oh well, I love being outside in the cooler weather and we made it work...just had to use some tacks to hold down the pennant banners for all the wind!! I took a few pictures of the details and then when people started coming, I really didn't get my camera out again. Thanks to my sister-in-law Kenlyn for taking shots of him opening presents and eating the cake and everyone who attended...THANKS!!! :)
The ONLY thing that makes me just sick is the fact that I didn't get a family pic or even one with just Kit and I with P. Totally didn't think about it until later. It's not at all your fault, Kenlyn, totally slipped my mind!! Oh well! Here's the handsome birthday boy!

It's like he knew the evening was for him! No one would have guessed the night before we were at Urgent Care for an ear infection and pink eye. I took him because he wasn't himself...definitely not because he was fussy because the boy doesn't do fussy!
I started out doing a "red wagon" party and it ended up being more of an antique/retro/red wagon party. I thought it turned out cute. Thanks for letting us use your "man cave" Dad! :)

I originally thought I'd put drinks in a wagon but my dad had just bought this old washing machine at an auction. Worked perfectly, dad! Thanks :)
 Loved the paper straws...:)
Red wagon cupcakes (red velvet) and P's smash cake (made by Mamaw & Papaw...THANK YOU!!) & thanks to my mom for scouting out the wagon!
Individual ice-creams in petite mason jars...I thought these were adorable :)
Cute little red wagon holding candy...thank you Aunt Shana for the find! :)
More red velvet cupcakes with toppers made by Aunt Kenlyn! Thanks :)
These bottles seemed to be a hit! They were starbucks frappucino bottles that Kit totally sacrificed and drank these for me so I could wash them and reuse for the party! ;)
My mom and I made those fabric pennant banners...I thought they turned out cute!
Oreos as known as "wagon wheels" for the party!! :)
We had pizza, salad, chips, fruit salad for dinner.
Drink/dessert table

More pictures of Porter and his party later... :)

Porter's 12mo well check

This cutie had his 1 year well check this morning!
Weight: 23pounds 5 ounces
Length: 30.5 inches

Hopefully I'll get around to updating the blog soon. Yesterday I started not feeling well, so when Kit got home from work, I went to the doctor. I have Strep throat AGAIN! :/. This is the second time in less than 2 months...
thankfully Kit was able to stay home today and take Porter to the doctor. After being on the go, go, go in Indiana, they don't seem to mind being low key while I spend my days on the couch.

Porter Ryan

Porter Ryan-
Can't believe we are here...one year after you were born! It was such a fast year! The day I met you I had no idea how much fun you were going to be. I remember going to the hospital just knowing deep down and that you were going to be a boy and your name was going to be Porter. Days prior to that morning we were still tossing around Porter or Hudson. I remember taking one look at you and knowing you were Porter. No question about it. I love, love, love your name.
You made us a family of four. Two boys. 20 months apart. I had no idea how much frustration nor sheer joy I would feel everyday for the past year. It's been a crazy year that we will never forget but I'm so thankful to have done it! We thank God for this year with you and pray for many, many, many more!

You are spunky, sweet and smart. You don't miss a beat. You watch your brother and try to do every single thing he does. I just know you two are going to be good friends. Right now you may dive on top of each other for the same toy but one day... :)
You are such a little charmer and a big flirt. When we are out at a restaurant...you watch people. You stare them down until they can feel someone watching them. They look over and you smile and bat your big beautiful eyes and they just melt. Next thing you know the whole table it "ooohing, and aaaahing" over you. Such a little ham.

You are such a "go with the flow" flexible little boy. If you miss a nap or eat late, there is no complaining out of you. You are such an easy baby.
You and Henry really do love each other. If you guys get separated (momma or poppa takes one of you out of the house) all you do it sit and look around and Henry will constantly ask about you.
I definantely didn't know if I'd feel the same love as when we met Henry. Guess what. same love. Instantly fell in love with you and there isn't a day that has passed where I am not madly in love with you boys.

You and Henry could not be more different. Night and Day. I pray you boys will only help each other in life with those differences and use them to both your advantage. Brothers. There is a bond between brothers no one can describe.
You are a treasure!!
Can not stop thanking God for such a precious gift as you, Porter Ryan.

Indiana Bound!

Today we are leaving for Indiana!! We are hoping to leave around 4 so we get some day driving but it's always to drive when the boys sleep so hopefully this way we'll get best of both worlds and arrive around 3 am.
We are SO excited to celebrate Porter's FIRST birthday! I just love this little guy. He's got so much spunk and he is the most optimistic baby I've ever met. He'll try anything...with a smile!

He's up and walking!! Well, at least a handful of steps at a time. Crawling is still his preferred mode of transportation...but not for long!! :)
These boys are becoming best of friends and I can't believe at 2 1/2 and nearly 12 months, how much they are ALWAYS together and ALWAYS usually on top of each other...there's some sort of wrestling going on!
This cutie is SO excited about coming to Indiana. This trip it's "clicked" so he's running around the house listing everyone he gets to see! He woke up early this morning ready to go!
See ya on the other side!! :)

Brothers: Tunnel o' fun

We've had the tunnel out before but this was Porter's first time to really enjoy it. He laughed and squeeled and Henry and Porter were both giggling so hard! It was so sweet. So naturally, I have to document times when they DO play well together and they enjoy each other! Henry is enjoying the fact that Porter can play with him, it just has to be all on "his terms". Heaven help us the day Porter has ideas and starts bossing Henry around...that will be here before we know it!! ha!
