Monday Recap

Happy Monday, everyone! We hope ya'll had a blessed Easter!! While we missed getting together with family, we enjoyed our sweet lil family getting to spend lots of time together. Friday we drove up to IKEA and got some bookcases/curtains/rug that I plan on putting in our office/playroom/piano room that hopefully after the laminate is installed will be just playroom/office with hopes of getting a laptop in the near future to make this front room all "playroom" for Henry. Confused, anyone? ha! Friday afternoon our laminate came in and Kit went to pick it up...what a difference it is going to make! exciting!!

Saturday was declared family day and in the morning Kit did some yard work while I ran to the store. After Henry's morning nap & lunch, we headed out to Noah's ark since it was an absolutely gorgeous day and Kit had never been! Great minds think alike, because the place was packed but we enjoyed ourselves. When we came home Henry went down for another nap...well, BOTH boys took naps :) and I stayed in the kitchen cooking. Besides Thanksgiving 2008, we've made it back home for alot of the major holidays but since we didn't go home this year, I wanted all the traditional fixin's (at least all the ones I was craving!). I made mashed potatoes, noodles, green bean casserole & deviled eggs and refrigerated them so it would be quick on Sunday (all that was left to be cooked was the ham!). By the time I got that done, it was time to pack up and leave and join friends at church for a cookout/farewell send off. Friends of ours (and my hair girl!) are moving to Florida with the marines. Henry had a great time playing on the playground and was worn out by the time we left!

Here are a few pictures of our Sunday morning. Henry's present was bigger than the basket so I just put the eggs in it and he had a ball taking them out, putting them in all morning. He has been quite fussy lately but we just discovered some more teeth popped through and looks like more on the way!

Thanks Wx Fam!

My momma couldn't believe how BIG these jammies looked when you gave them to me last year and tonight she couldn't believe how well they fit....
I'm a growing boy!!
Thanks Again!
Love,
Henry

More beautiful days!

We have had a couple of gorgeous days in a row and yesterday we didn't get to spend much outside since I drove alot to get back and forth to my appt and dropping/picking Henry up. So, this morning after Henry got his hair cut, we ran to a little park to enjoy the sunshine. But it was HOT! Much hotter than I expected, so neither of us lasted long in our jeans and tennis shoes. We grabbed a MckFlurry on the way home and headed outside to enjoy the sunshine. Does anyone have any recommendations on an outside water toy/table? Henry LOVES water and right now, I really don't want to do sand. So, I pulled out a few plastic bowls and put water in them and that kept him quite entertained.
Also, we want to wish...
Silas a VERY HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY!!
Love you buddy,
Uncle Kit, Aunt Grace, Henry & Baby C

Doctor Appointment

All looks good. He was really happy with my BP and the baby's heartbeat but wasn't thrilled with my lack of weight gain. I'm sure it'll pick up since I'm feeling great now and of course, just had the worst stomach bug of my life. My next ultrasound/appointment is scheduled for April 29th and we are looking forward to seeing the baby again!

Happy 14th Birthday, Rob!!

Wish we could be there to celebrate with you!!!
Love,
U. Kit, A. Grace, Henry & Baby c

Weekend in Review

Weekends always go by way too fast! Friday night we stayed home and watched The Blind Side which was a really awesome & powerful movie. And, being pregnant, I bawled (sp?) throughout the entire movie!
Saturday morning I got up and did a little shopping. See, Mr. H is a very growing boy and I was on the lookout for some new spring/summer clothes and something for the pregnant lady to wear that semi coordinates my boys for Easter.
In the afternoon we went to a couple of local flooring places and checked out their options. We had decided unanimously on what we wanted, until we walked in and met Jim. Jim showed us similar products to what we had been looking at in the big box stores for 1/2 the cost...HALF THE COST! So, I'm pretty sure that tomorrow when I return his sample board, we'll be placing our large order. Thank you, Lord for your provision! God bless the small business owner.
Sunday, in between church services, we went to a birthday party to celebrate with cutie Vada. She turned 2 and had a Dora party. We went on a treasure hunt throughout the neighborhood trails and Dora showed up along with treasure chests full of goodies. Vada had a cute treasure chest cake but unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it.

Nursery Theme? Gender?

You got it...the same as last time!
When we were pregnant with Henry we both agreed that we didn't want to find out the gender of the baby and be surprised in labor & delivery. The next question was what to do with nursery bedding. Do we buy bedding for both boy and girl? Just do neutrals/patterns? We decided that we would do a neutral palate and that would just become our "nursery bedding". We are so pleased with the finished product my mom and Granny made and hope it continues to hold up well and *hopefully* it will be the nursery bedding for all of our children.

Please don't get me wrong, I love a good gender theme nursery, but we thought this worked best for our family and was also cost effective.

Henry will be leaving the nursery before the baby is born and will be promoted to his own "big boy" room and I am so excited to make his room ALL BOY!! :) I have started some planning, and a little shopping around and can't wait for it all to come together!

So, the big question we've been getting asked lately is are we going to find out the gender THIS time? And, the answer is.....NO! This decision, I'll admit, was harder for me this time. It was sure tempting! Especially when my doctor offered a guess at 13 weeks! But, when we really thought about it, the delivery room experience was AMAZING and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVED the surprise at the end (motivation for me, FOR SURE)! Of course, we've never experienced it by finding out at 20 weeks either, so it may be just as magical! Hopefully no one will spill the beans to us before delivery and we will be surprised again!

Do you want a boy or girl? We really don't care! I go back and forth all the time. I think of how fun it would be for Henry to have a little brother and with them being 21 months apart, they will be buddies for sure! It could be me and all my boys! But, we would also love to have a girl and it would be wonderful to have one of each. And if I have a girl, what fun that she will wear bows, clips, and headbands, OH MY! ha! So, either way...it's a win, win for us!

Names? We are totally open to any GIRL suggestions. Please feel free to leave them in the comments! We already have a boy's first name selected.

16 weeks!

Ahhhh...

That feels better! I am feeling really good about this blog becoming private. It's something I've considered doing ever since we had Henry but didn't want to "inconvenience" anyone. We finally decided for the safety of our family (always safe than sorry) we'd make it private. I know it is one extra step to see a little glimpse into our family and we appreciate that ya'll take the time to check in with us!
I'm starting to feel ALOT better now that I am almost 16 weeks (tomorrow) and hope to be able to get more Henry pictures up. He is just such a mover now, it's no fun to sit still and smile for the camera! ha!

So, I guess that's it...is there anything ya'll want to know about us?

We are EXCITED that my parents will be here in a couple of weeks and help us with putting down new flooring and can't wait for the change that will make to our first floor! I am getting pumped!

Going Private...

The time has come for our family blog to go private. I've avoided doing this for so long because of so many family members, friends and old co-workers who check in on us from time to time! I know this will add one extra step to see what is going on in our lives, but we feel as though it has become necessary. So, please e-mail me at graceamazn@gmail.com with your e-mail address or leave it in the comment box below and I will get you added on. Tomorrow we are going private...

Thanks!

We are surviving!!

Whew! The past couple of days have been ROUGH around here to say the least but we are surviving and we are all on the upward mend! For those of you who don't know, Henry woke up Tuesday afternoon vomiting and the stomach bug was vicious! It was heartbreaking to see Henry so sick...it was so pitiful. We made it through the night and by morning, he seemed to be doing well, keeping food down and acting more of himself. By Wednesday night I wasn't feeling well and woke up around midnight sick and continued all throughout the night. Kit stayed home from work yesterday and I still hadn't been able to keep ice chips down by late morning. Henry had his 15 month well check yesterday morning so Kit agreed to take him. Well, Kit made it there and back before he started getting sick. We literally were both in bed yesterday and Henry had the run of the house. Bless that child that he enjoys his crib b/c there were times we put him in there b/c we were both sick and couldn't keep an eye on him while we were both in a bathroom and he enjoyed playing away! Thank you Henry!
Thanks for everyone's prayers...we appreciate and felt them!
Last night, a friend was able to run and get some basics...gatorade, bananas, etc and left them on our doorstep...Thank You, Tate!!

Just His Size

My husband is so smart! I've been giving Henry the responsibilty of swiffering in the kitchen after meals to pick up loose crumbs. Kit took out a couple of the adjustable pieces on the swiffer and made it "just Henry's size". It's too cute to see him sweeping with his "mini" swiffer :)

An Afternoon Delight...

Anyone who knows me well remembers how I became slightly obsessed with Oreos at the end of my pregnancy with Henry and continued for several months into breastfeeding. I ate so many Oreos that it was more cost effective to buy in bulk at Sam's and we made several trips! ha! So, I've been feeling really good this week and Oreos have started to sound good again. This time, I have an adorable little model showing you the perfect "Afternoon Delight Snack". Enjoy! ;)

Step Two: Dunk the Oreo in Milk

Step Three: Tast the Yummy Oreo Goodness!

Enjoying some Gorgeous days!!

It was a GORGEOUS day yesterday!! Besides Bible Study in the morning and H's nap and meal times, we were outside ALL day yesterday! We went on some walks, cleaned out the vehicles, swept the garage, played with outside toys and last night Henry got to help Poppa wash the vehicles!! Boy was he in heaven to be walking freely outside, tromping in the water, playing with the bucket and getting just plain dirty! Last night was definately BATH night!! :) Henry's FAVORITE part by far though was pulling in the vehicles to the garage. LOVES those steering wheels!!
How can I help??
Running around the front yard just a talkin'

I think he was starting to get sleeeepy!! ha!

Checking out the lights, turn signals too!
