Then, we left....

We headed to Georgia but stopped to see my brother and sister-in-law in southern indiana and made a pit stop for the night at my sister and brother-in-law's. Then, we left Sunday morning with my parents traveling with us. Gisele was less than impressed to ride for the 9 hours but Grover absolutely loved watching all the semi's, laying in the sun and occasionally getting to stick his head out the window when we weren't on the interstate. We only had to do one detour in TN due to an accident but all went well. We stayed in a hotel and the next morning dropped my parents and dogs at my cousin's apartment. My cousin who is also due in December and also relocating to Georgia is closing on her house on Friday! (yeah, Denise!!). Anyway, she was so gracious to offer for everyone to hang out with her while Monday we were busy with the final walk through and closing. Then, after a very long closing we drove to our new house!! Kit had made all the calls last weekend for our Gas, electric, A/C service, Water, etc. but it's amazing how much he had to pull teeth to get all the workers to come turn stuff on. Yeah, we are still waiting for the gas company to come!

Hey All-
Well, we finally have got some great news, after much silence from the foreclosure bank...we do have a closing date set for Monday, October 6th @ 1:00p.m. We will be starting the drive down next weekend. We appreciate everyone's prayers for us so far. We are looking forward to getting settled in Georgia. I have been feeling great and it has been so nice to relax and have a "calm before the storm" so to speak before we have lots of boxes to unpack. I can't believe I'm 7 months along already.
I believe most of you know that I failed my 1 hour glucola test so I had to return for a 3 hour test. I was going to wait upon our arrival to Georgia but with the recent delay I went ahead and had it done here in Lafayette on Friday and have yet to hear the results although I expect them back tomorrow. That's something I really don't ever care to do again ;).
Sorry for the recent lack of communication. The dogs have been enjoying a truly country life out here on the farm although along with it comes the slow internet dial up connection and makes checking e-mail an almost all day process :).
Kit left for Georgia this morning and has arrived safely. He will return on Wednesday evening; just enough time to come home and pack up to start the drive down.
We are looking forward to seeing our things again and having a larger variation in wardrobe since we orginally thought we were only going to be at my parents for a few days...which will end up being more like 2 1/2 weeks. They have been so generous and things have gone really well.
It was so nice for my sister to come down for a quick visit over the weekend and bring Erika. We had a great day of shopping and ooohing and aaahing way too much in all the cute baby departments :).
So, some final hurdles for us in the move to Georgia would be: 1. Pray for our safety traveling to Georgia 2. A Smooth closing on our house in Georgia. 3. The movers being able to work us back in their schedule since our things had to go to storage. Hopefully it will be timely and can be as closest to the 6th as possible.

Today is the day..

the movers come to pack us up and tomorrow is loading day! As I sit here, my mind is running on overdrive trying to think of what things I haven't put in the "don't pack" pile. We are set to close Friday here and set waiting to hear from the bank about closing Monday in Georgia. The movers have been quite busy lately so they might not deliver our things until Wednesday of next week. So now I am thinking of what cleaning supplies I need to at least get the house cleaned before they come to unload everything.
I have today and tomorrow of work and then I am finished....each location has been so nice and thoughtful and yesterday the plainfield office got me a jogging stroller...I am so pumped!!
I have my last appt with my OB today and will get my 1 hour glucola test...
So, this will probably be the last post until we are in Georgia...yikes!! We are so thankful for this process being about as short as it can be because frankly it has been just a headache of paperwork, phone calls and e-mails. I can't imagine being in limbo like this for months. We are praising God that this is about as "quick" as a transfer can be.

The Latest

Kit just got back last night after being in Georgia for the week. We are so thankful that he was able to be there when we learned our offer was accepted on a house! He was there for the inspection and finished a few loose ends. We are still set to close on our house the 19th and are wanting to close in Georgia on the 22nd but if we don't, it should be later that week.... God definately has provided for us again and again with this move. We were able to find a great deal in an awesome neighborhood that is in a very safe neighborhood and nicely located. We are expecting visitors!!! The subdivision has a pool and across the road is the golf course... why not plan a family vacation to Georgia?! ;) I am closer to shopping and more ideal medical centers and Kit will be about 20 minutes away for work which is awesome. He already knows back roads on how to get to work to avoid the ever miserable Atlanta traffic!

Next week is my last week of work before my "retirement" and I am so excited to be starting a whole new chapter in life. I have been going to all my "last" appointments before we move. Today is the eye doctor and the ever important hair cut before we move :).

The house needs a good cleaning with some attention to paint touch ups but we have time to get all that done...eventually :) We are just so blessed to have the space we need for guests when they come...am I hinting enough ?! ;)

It's still a go...

Well, we have the official word that the buyers agreed to the repairs we are willing to make from the inspection list. Therefore, we have the document with their signatures stating they are going to continue with the contract and we are still set to close Sept 19th. Kit has studied that inspector's report time and time again and has noted several mistakes in his report as to what actually needs to be done compared to what he said. He does seem to be a fairly pleasant older man and actually came to the house yesterday so Kit could clarify what he wants done and to make sure there will be no issues at the time of re inspection. He did tell Kit that the buyers have yet to set up a reinspection date and stated hardly anyone ever calls him to come back and check but... we are quite certain these buyers will! haha

24 weeks pregnant

Yeah!! I am 24 weeks...I had an appt today and everything looks awesome. Considering how the past week has been, I was quite surprised my blood pressure was still great at 90/50. I am right on target with my weight and we loved hearing the baby's heartbeat again. I told Dr. Wickert we were moving and he definately wants to see me one more time before I go. He was quite supportive when telling him our plans but unfortunately didn't personally know of any doctors.

As for our house, we are just completely leaving it in God's hands. There is no way I could write down all that has gone on recently nor can I probably remember all the crazy demands of these buyers but we are still praying to close on the 19th. We have really learned alot recenty about realtors and how they choose to operate, the current housing market and how buyers are being fed this whole "you're in control of the market; so shoot for the stars" mentality. We will know in the next day or so whether these buyers will walk away or not. Therefore, it is slowing up the process of buying a house in GA since down there they don't want to accept our "contigency to close" phrase because there is no way we want to be stuck with two house payments. So, we would really appreciate everyone's prayers!!

23 weeks & quick updates

Here is a new picture as requested! I'm 23 weeks and feeling really great! Our appt is next week so I'll have to put up an update then. Baby Cad has been changing times of activity, switching from days to nights which has been interesting, but the kicking is definately getting stronger which has been alot of fun for Kit to be able to feel!

Today Kit had to run to the John Deere store for a part on our mower and picked up a pair of these adorable socks for the baby!! Thanks Honey :) They are so stinkin' cute with the farm animals and tractors on them...

The dogs are still enjoying their big yard. It will sure be an adventure and the dogs are always up to something new! I still can't get over how similar their coats are to one another....
We fly out this weekend to GA and we'll be back in time for the Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully we will find a house this weekend!....

Well, we are thrilled to add to this blog that we have accepted an offer on our house and are looking to close September 19th! Last Monday we met with the realtor and the sign went in the yard that night. By wednesday the house had an MLS # and was up on the internet with pictures. This Wednesday our realtor pulled in our driveway with an offer! We are absolute delighted and can't get over God's goodness and provision for us! We should have the inspection within 10 days and are confident things should go well since we just had it done a year and a half ago!

Since we were a little shocked with the speediness of our house, we weren't prepared to go to GA for a couple more weeks but we have already bought tickets for next weekend and are praying to find that perfect house to make our home in Georgia!

We can't tell you enough how much we appreciate all of your prayers.

This morning while having my quiet time I fell in love with this statement...

No life is more secure than a life surrendered to God.

A Man and His Dog

Poor Gisele. I really do feel horrible for her. She developed a staph infection around June and I don't think she was on the antibiotics long enough so she just recently went back to the vet for a quick culture and sensitivity to discover she will continue on antibiotics for a few more weeks. We have also been giving her benadryl to help with the itching. Well, she was running low and we thought we would look for a more "economy" size. We found it but in capsules and I didn't think it would matter much since her antibiotics are capsules. Well, poor thing was allergic to them and this morning her poor little eyes were all swollen :(. Kit had her all curled up in a ball laying on his chest since her ears were cold and her nose was all dry. She spent the day at the Vet's office and is doing better. This is a big thing to be on the couch was papa but who can say no to that sweet face when all you have to do is look at her and know she doesn't feel well!

This post has been a long time coming....

Let's go back to December 2006. Kit had logged several hours pouring himself into his major and finally he was finished. Graduated. What next? Without alot of offers and pretty much no leads Kit was given an offer here in the CAT plant working through a contract company. It was a decent job but not the job Kit dreamed of. We agreed that this job would do for now and would continue to look for new opportunities. Kit and I decided we would settle in and buy a house, afterall living in a one bedroom apartment for two and a half years while it met all our needs wasn't all peaches and cream... Next thing you know we found that great 3 bedroom, 2 bath house on large lot...just what we had been looking for. It was nice to be able to work with our hands and do things to our own house. But we had to ask ourselves, was this really home?!

July 2007. We were thrilled with having a house of our own, living in a town we have only known and content with life itself....well, maybe not ;). Starting at the beginning of the year the word children became a topic for us and the excitement of a new chapter in life. After praying for several months we thought we would take the plunge and start trying.

December 2007. Kit was starting to pursue that desire for a full time job thinking of that promise for a baby that would be in the near future.... And there we have it. Kit interviewed and interviewed and interviewed some more. So much that I became quite versed in the "It's ok honey, God has a job out there for you somewhere." You can only say that so many times when finally we asked ourselves, if we really truly believed that or not. Is a full time job something we really, really wanted to see God provide for us or not?! Yes, in fact, we felt that it became such a priority for our family that we wanted to see a change. We began aggressively seeking and praying for God's will in this area and for results.

May 2008. Kit was turned down for every possible job in the lafayette area that he could find to interview for. There were so many times we were over the process. However, God had only begun to slowly reveal his plans for us. Kit was asked if he would be willing to interview outside of this CAT facility and at first turned the though of it down. I still remember the day he called me wanting to know if I would be open to moving and felt that he should at least be willing if this was a job God had for us. Of course, before you know it the interview went well and the ball started rolling. Before you know it, Kit was given an offer and we have flown to GA to take a look around the area.

August 2008. I can't describe to you every emotion that we have felt along the way. When given the offer our first line of thought was prayer and how suddenly this opportunity could be the answer God had for us. Is it what we were thinking?! Absolutely not. But, we have had to ask ourselves would be go in faith trusting that God will work out every detail according to his purpose?! Yes. Kit could not go back to sleep last Wednesday morning and the verse Jeremiah 29 :11 came to him which says, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope".

We are of course sad and will miss friends and family here like crazy but we are so excited for the new adventures we have ahead of us in Georgia. We can't wait to explore new things and of course....we are going to be PaReNtS!!! How crazy is that?! There are moments (yes, plural!) that I think to myself, how on earth can we sell a house, pack up a house, find a house in GA, unpack and have a baby all by the end of the year? That is the great thing...God can do it! God is so awesome and has had a plan from the very beginning. He is the same God who knew our due date would be Christmas, the same awesome God who has placed us in this new job, new state and the same God who knows every detail and will provide us with an excellent OB/GYN, new house and the list goes on!

20 weeks

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday! I'm so glad that I am this far along already...time has really flown by. We had our ultrasound first and then the appt with Dr. Wickert. We told the tech before the monitor was turned on that we didn't want to know so as to not have any slip up on what the sex is. The tech was able to see everything clearly and all looked right on target which is such a relief. We are right on target with the due date...the tech put us at December 25th with the baby weighing about 12 ounces and approx 6 inches long. The heart rate was 145 bpm and if you click on the picture above it should enlarge showing you that the baby was laying low with the head tilted back. All four chambers of the heart were well defined along with kidneys, bladder, cerebellum and the 3 vessel cord. The baby was waving and the tech remarked what long fingers the baby has!


It was so much fun to see Baby Cad (or as my dad has nicknamed, Baby Roy!) haha on the big screen and it only seemed like only a second before the ultrasound was already over.


Dr. Wickert was quite please with my weight, BP of 116/60 and the fact I haven't had any swelling. We got to hear the heartbeat again with him in the room and that is so much fun.

We are so blessed and praising God for his goodness and faithfulness. This is such an exciting time in our lives and I am so thankful to have Kit right with me to share it with!

A couple of weeks ago I went and looked at fabric with my mom and Granny. This is what I have picked and so the material with be used to make the bumper, curtains, bed skirt, quilt and maybe even throw in a few pillows. Thankfully they are quite talented to be able to make them as I struggle to sew on a button!

December 24th

Here is a picture of my cousin Denise and her husband Doug with Kit and I. We are both due on the exact same day, December 24th! It will be interesting to see how far apart they will be....or won't. My nephew Clint and his cousin Hannah have the same birthday on December 28th.... :).

16 week baby bump

We had a great doctors appt and my favorite part is hearing the heartbeat. I can't wait until my August 8th appt where we have our 20 weeks ultrasound! I am feeling great and starting to finally learn to sleep on my side (I'm a devote stomach sleeper and this has been a HUGE adjustment). I recently just started feeling the baby move just is fun...I can't wait until Kit can feel the baby, too!

My oh my, was she ever that little?!

On July 6th, Gisele turned1! We enjoyed taking naps in between church and I made their favorite treats from scratch. We have loved adding Gisele into our home... she is the sweetest. She really is a gentle giant :). She just went to the vet and is about 105# and I believe she is about 33 inches tall from wither to toes.

Berninger's in Brookville

We made our way to southern Indiana yesterday for the Berninger Reunion. It was so neat to see my Grandpa so excited! You could tell he has waited for this day and loved answering any questions that would help fill in the pieces of the puzzle to all us younger. We drove through the countryside (some pretty winding roads at times) and enjoyed seeing the church the Berninger's attended after moving here from Germany and the cemetry where they were laid to rest. It was a neat day and Kit and I enjoyed the family history. Although, I was kinda hoping to walk away with some name ideas but unfortunately, nothing jumped out!! :)

The little one turns 3!

Our Grover turned...3 !!! I can't believe he is 21 already. We celebrated the day with cheese and peanut butter treats which are his all time favorite---homemade :)

We also had Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Troy for dinner and Grover shares his birthday with Lindsay so that was a fun evening and a joy to have such great company!
