"camping" weekend!

The boys have been asking to camp all summer. Well...summertime is not the time to go camping...especially with the Texas heat! So...on the last weekend before Henry starts preschool we decided to make their wishes come true! We sat up the tent in the playroom and they were SO excited. Henry kept saying, "This is SO awesome...the best day ever!!" We thought we'd make it even more "realistic" by playing cricket noises with our iphones but that pretty much freaked them out! lol!! Porter looked as stiff as a board with eyes as big as half dollars. I asked him what was wrong and he said..."I think that noise makes me scared." SOoooo...we turned that off and they did go right to sleep but were up promptly at 6:30 am! Oh my....
AND...8 months pregnant is not the time to go camping...whether indoors or out! ha!
But...we all had fun, would do it over again in a heartbeat and next time will have to try outdoors :).

Wells did not like being told to lay down for a picture. He is giving me the stink face!

We even made s'mores over our "camp fire" haha!! :) Which for future reference...H&P did not like the s'mores :)

Brain Dump...

Wells is 15 months old now. Not only do I not know how that happened  but his personality is just oozing these days. He's fiesty, and passionate and cuddly at the same time. He has no problem holding his own against his brothers. He can say about a handful of words and some animal sounds. He loves shoes, playing in the trashcan and playing with legos like the big boys. He also has a great arm and good kicking leg. He's ALL boy ALL the time!!
At his 15 mo appt he was 24# 5 ounces and 31.5" long.
for comparison...
H was 24#6 and 31 3/4" long
P was 25# and 33.5" long.

Henry is getting ready to start preschool...oh me oh my! He has orientation tomorrow and then school starts next week! He is SOOO excited!!

The other night when I was making dinner the boys were pretending to be cowboys. We only have one play hat so Kit went and got my hat from showing days. The boys thought that was SO COOL that I was a real life cowgirl...I'm pretty sure I got some "cool momma points" for that.

I may or may not have been doing a little photo shoot to get ready for baby girl's newborn pics. I had some wonderful assistants helping me :).

I am SO ready for the nursery to be finished!! It seems like we've been working on it night and day...really it's just slow going. It is looking SO good I can't wait to put everything together. I wanted a super "simple" room and I've learned that "simple" in looks means lots of hard work in preparation! ha! BUT....when it's finished it'll all be worth it. And then we won't be doing any projects with 4 kids for a loooooong time! And my husband says....Amen!! ha!

P turns 3 years old next week. Unreal!! He is SOOOOoooo ready to be a "super big kid" and can't wait. I have no idea how this happened either. Everyone is getting so big & grown up around here!! :)

My 32 week appt last week went well! Everything is looking great and hard to believe I'm now down to every two week appts and then weekly! All my appts are scheduled until 40 weeks. I still have a hard time believing it's a girl...I'm not sure I will believe it until I'm holding her so while I'm been shopping for girl things, I also have a box ready in the nursery JUST incase baby girl is actually Bennett Hawk (our boy name pick) ;-). BUT, at ultrasounds they keep assuring me it's a girl so I guess we better pick a girl name!! :)

Better keep moving...happy hump day...and it's a long weekend coming up! woohoo!! :)

Last week was a busy one between play dates, pool days, our anniversary & working on the nursery!

Wells turned 15 mo old yesterday and wow...he's proving to be the orneriest of them all!

Baby girl nursery is coming along!

Big boy Wells. He's determined to do everything his brothers do!

Sweet P enjoying some last pool days!

There is some construction going on near the house, the boys could watch that bulldozer for hours!

Weekend of FIRSTS!

This weekend we had a lot of work and a little play...and...
Someone's FIRST big boy haircut!!! I knew it was time, I just kept putting it off. Last week at Chic Fil A I had 3 sweet little old ladies come to our table and tell me how handsome Henry & Porter were and how beautiful "She" was...meaning Wells. Henry would try to set them straight but I just said thank you and let them go on their merry way.
Sunday when we woke up Kit told me it was time....he was right.

BEFORE
When he first sat in the chair and she started spraying his head with water, he lost it but...
as soon as she started combing his hair and cutting he was mesmerized....calmed down and looked like he was about to go to sleep! ha!
At the end I pulled out a sucker and he was SO content
The curls are gone. I will miss them. I cried...like a baby...but he looks SO handsome.
The last "first big boy" haircut is done. never to have again. It's bittersweet.
About 5 o'clock last night Kit & I were wondering if a haircut came with a personality change. Wow. He was SO stinking ornery!! He does everything he can to keep up with Henry & Porter!
ANOTHER first we had this weekend was me taking the BIG boys to a movie date to go see the movie 'Planes'. We have SO much to do y'all with the nursery...it's overwhelming. Four kids is overwhelming. Having nothing for a baby the opposite gender after having 3 the same makes me feel like a first time mom again. It's like starting over. What works best when you are overwhelmed...keep avoiding it! haha! Just kidding...that'd be the WRONG answer but Kit offered to keep working on the nursery stuff and me to get away for a bit. So thankful for that man. It was SO fun to get to experience that first with H&P. Their eyes were as big as half dollars the WHOLE time, we ate a HUGE tub of popcorn and they told me that was the best date no less than 50 times during the movie. We had such a good time together & they were very well behaved & Henry kept asking if he was doing a good job taking care of me. So sweet.
 Oh & here is a baby girl bump pic...31 weeks...only 9 more to go...WoW!
Me & my handsome men before the movie.
Goodness, I'm so proud of these boys. So sweet these big brothers are.

Happy "Friday"

What. A. Week. This seems like the longest week ever for some reason. Last night when Kit got home all the boys were still sleeping...we decided to get ready & then go out to eat. All the sudden it has gotten so easy to get out with the boys & we know are days are numbered as baby girl's due date is fast approaching...going out with a baby is anything but easy and fast! We had a fun dinner with the boys at a Mexican restaurant we'd been wanting to try. Goodness me, I can't believe they are mine!! So sweet & cute!!

This is a more "normal" picture of our days...with little brother grabbing the goggles and about to rip them off Ps head.

Thanks to cousin E passing down this shirt, each one of the boys has gotten to wear this fun shirt. And it's quite appropriate for Wells. He likes to keep life interesting!

Somebody swiped my phone :-)

Kit has tomorrow off and we are hoping to knock out a lot of the nursery. Of course we both aren't feeling well so I really hope we can push through and get it done.

Weekend fun

This weekend was a little bit of work & a whole lotta play! Saturday Henry helped Kit prime the nursery! Yay! The nursery has begun! So long metallic silver.

Sunday evening we loaded down the Schwinn and headed up to the park at the lakes. We took a picnic and spent the rest of the evening fishing & paddle boating. Henry caught a little fish and a turtle! Ha! Porter had lots of bites but we never could hook one...next time!! I'll let the pictures do the talking!

Life lately from the iPhone

We had a picnic at the park!

We rode our bikes to McDonalds for some yummy ice cream

H & me on the bike ride. Love that alley cat for long rides. Thanks, Marney!!

These two are becoming good friends!

My 3 little monkeys!!

The boys love when Kit goes to the store. A fun surprise of powdered donuts for breakfast.

My porter pie. This child. He said right before I took this picture, "momma I can't smile because I'm nervous." Me: what are you nervous about? "My foot" oh my! Porter keeps us on our toes!!

I got this for baby girls bathroom!
