P is a BIG boy too!
Scroll down to see my post on Henry and potty training and you know we had a big week last week. But, as if I wasn't already going crazy, I decided Porter would have a change too and decided to take his bottle away. He did great and it wasn't an issue. Just something I thought might be a challenge but he's such a big boy and has done great with the transisition. Boy, all sorts of little {BIG} changes around here...my babies are growing up! Porter turned 11 months last week and I'm gearing up for his Party. Can't wait! I found a great graphic designer to help me with the invites and cupcake toppers...my sister-in-law! ;) I can't believe it's almost time for him to be one! :(. He's getting alot better with his balance so walking is coming...!
Funny note...Since Porter has had no bottle...guess what he's started doing...sucking his thumb!! A little late buddy, you're almost a year old! ha!
Here P is in the grass...doing a little monkey crawl! :)Hummer.
One Night Kit got home late for work. It was dark out and he noticed some powerwheels at the end of a neighbors driveway. He came home and mentioned them but I didn't think anything about it. After supper he said it again, wondering if they were for sale, trash or what. He was curious so he drove to the neighbors and asked. The neighbor stated her kids don't play with them anymore, she wanted them out of her garage and she had no idea if they worked or not, she was putting them in the trash. Seeing Kit was interested, she offered that he could take whatever. There were 3. One girl beetle and, and two others. Kit brought home this Hummer. I think it's cute. He says it's "For the boys" but he's had a lot of fun with Henry out in the garage. They ordered one $13.00 part and it started right up. The body is really faded and the stickers are chipping off so they have plans for a new paint job next spring...something that maybe says H & P on it with custom colors....oh my! It's cute they are having so much fun with it! Henry has loved working on it but was intimidated to drive at first. The first lesson was short but he's getting used to it and driving really well!
Checking it out...
We all know this is what its going to look like next summer! haha! ;)
And, to give you all a little laugh....
;)
Once Upon a Potty
It's official! Henry is potty-trained!! Last Monday was August 1st. I told myself we'd start August 1st. Monday morning I took off the diaper and thought I'd see what happened. We had potty success all morning and from there...we never looked back. NO. MORE. DIAPERS. FOR. HENRY!!! wahoo!!!! He has done fabulously and with the exception of one morning, has continued to stay dry all night. Our biggest hurdle was "Mr. Stinky". But, you see the Thomas train behind the toilet in the pictures? That was his prize if he went. He begged. He cried. He wanted that train. He must have just made up his mind because Saturday after lunch, he told us it was coming, and immediately knew what to do. Haven't looked back since...So. Being on this side of it I'd say, not a big deal! BUT, last Thursday...I was WEARY. Asking every 2.5432124569734 minutes, "Do you have to go potty?!", "We dont go in our underwear!!", "You need to tell momma when you need to go potty!!" was enough to make me go insane and wore.me.out. I didn't leave the house all week to stay consistent and, I spent probably the first three days walking behind him with gloves, rags and bleach. (HAHA! Just kidding... but I wanted to!!!!). I can definately see on "this side" of things how it's important for them to be ready. Henry defiantely was so it clicked and we really didn't have that many accidents. He knew what to do.
Grammy & Grampie...remember that book you gave Henry at Christmas, we have now read it 1,000 times and it definately contributed to his success! :)Honestly...this kid is motivated by gifts. He got money, candy, play-doh, books, little cars, games. Yes, I bribed him and rewarded him and it worked very well! ha!
Success!! Such a BIG boy! :)

Happy week-ending!
If you already didn't guess, the pictures from Porter & Henry's updates were from my sister when we were all back in Indiana. Thanks Amy!!
This picture is so cute...Henry took this one. Not bad...budding photographer?!

Gator
Porter...our energetic one. Oh my...you can just see the energy in his eyes. He's pretty mellow...unless he wants to be heard and he's always willing to give you a smile. But he never. stops. moving. He's flirtatious, charming, a ham, whatever you call it...we call it Porter Ryan :)
Boy is this child loud. We do not have a quiet house...he babbles up a storm! and his giggles are so contagious. My dad gave him the nickname "gator" when we visited in July. He has decided the belly on the floor kind of crawl is the fastest and boy is he FAST! Gator. It's stuck...he's such a cute gator! :)
Look at his eyes...he knows he's cute. t-r-o-u-b-l-e.
With all the picture taking of P, Henry was begging for his picture. Awesome! New camera strategy? He looked right at the camera and said, CHEESE! love.it.
He's a ball of fun. I love having two boys. love it. love it.

Overdue Update: Henry 2 1/2
Henry: I can't believe we are on the 2nd half of year two. The days are just flying by and you are such a sweet treasure. Yes, you are TWO and yes, we have frustrating days but lately, the days have been SO good! Henry. You are like a 70 year old man trapped in a 2 year old body. You are so funny and you are so set into a routine it makes me chuckle. If I try to be "fun mom" and "spontaneous" it throws you for a loop. You are a homebody and if we are out you just keep asking, "Can we please go back to Henry's house?". You are definately a little mimick. I must say the word, "actually" alot because lately, that's what you tell me. "Henry, would you like apple juice for breakfast?" H: "Actually, I would like orange juice. Thank you, Momma!" ha! too cute. You pretty much sing the alphabet but somewhere along -l.m.n.o.p- it comes out like -l.m.m.m.p- :).
Counting. Just like anything, when you want to be cooperative you can count to 10. When you don't, you just stare at me like you haven't a clue.
Colors. You get everything but RED. everytime. You know pink. you know purple. Red. nope. still not yet.
You love your tractors and your trains. You are all about airplanes and dumptracks, skidsteers and bulldozers.
This morning we were at Lowe's and I was surprised when you said, "Look Momma! It a foark-wipt. (fork lift). cute.
You are curious about every sound you hear and we talk about it in depth. I never know if it's because it scares you or you are just curious so we talk alot about God is always with us and we are safe. That must be something else I say alot because Henry grabs my hand alot and says, "Don't worry, momma, you're okay. God is with you."Foods. I'll never fully understand a toddler's diet so being laid back about it is what I think the best answer is. I stopped buying some snacks I didn't think were appropriate and you are offered healthy options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All I know is, a child never starved to death with a full plate of food in front of him. That's my motto and so somedays you eat and eat and eat and others you don't. That's fine, no snacks till the next meal and then you are usually begging to help me set the table so we can eat sooner. That works well for us...
Playtime. This is my most frustrating thing right now. You and Porter. Oh. my. goodness. it's enough to make me lose my mind some days. Porter is now extremely mobile so it's the whole, "IT'S MINE!" and there is pushing and "no, no, porter!" and Porter has learned to pull out the tears and then Henry tries to top it, and so on and so forth. I'm keeping it real here folks, this is veryfrustratingtome!! We make great strides and then I leave the room for a second and oh my goodness....we'll get there...someday! Also, maybe it's a boy thing but these two are like magnets. can not stop crawling all over and laying on top of each other. it's chaos. When it's not fighting over toys you can be very helpful. You pick up toys, throw away diapers, keep an eye on Porter and help me with unloading the dishwasher, putting away clothes, sweeping and letting Gisele outside. I think you are pretty responsible for two....at times ;)
You love to be outside and "race". You won't even consider learning to peddle your tractor, all you want to do is run, run, run.
You have been pretty adventurous this summer for you, Henry. Picking up lizards, worms, frogs, shooting guns and watching fireworks.
You made us laugh really hard the other night. Henry, you were playing peek-a-boo with porter and we said, "where is Henry?!" (with your hands over your eyes) and you shouted. "I underneath my eyes!!" hahahaha :) cute!
You wear 2T and size 8 shoe. Size 4 diaper. Yesterday you went potty on the potty twice. We are making small strides and I told myself August 1st we'd get more intense about it. I know it's because I need to make up my mind we are potty training so I'm trying to get myself pumped up about it! ha!
We love you Henry Wade. We are so glad and thankful God gave us you!

Before & After :: {Mailbox} & {The Front Flower Beds}
It's so hard to believe that this fall we will have been in Georgia for 3 years. And for 3 years we've worked on the inside of our home but not the outside. So, it's time to pay attention and add a little curb appeal! I started this weekend off Friday at naptime with a little before and after: the mailbox. Poor, pitiful mailbox.
So, here is our before on the front flower beds. They held those unattractive bushes that I pretty much loathed! So not cute! BUT, we are still going back and forth on what to put back IN there. Anyone want to offer input? We'd like perennials, something with some color...thinking pinks, oranges...I'll get to that in a minute...We are not adding any flower beds now...maybe in the spring around the mailbox, etc
Here is the after. We worked ALL day on this on Saturday and it's amazing I can move today! The front beds had rocks in them and Kit and I do not care for rocks. oh the fun of hauling wheel barrel full after wheel barrel full out of there!
This is the play room side. We took out the rocks and pulled two bushes out. We didn't mind the shape of these just the far left bush (that was dead) and the one all the way to the right we removed. Plus, since we are still trying to develop "a look" we decided to leave 4 of these.
This was the tough side. We had 5 bushes to remove. And like any true project, 4 out of the 5 weren't bad. The fifth was a challenge...that's when we got the john deere out! ;)
Finally all the bushes and rock removed...pine straw time! :)
Here I am with the boys! This was about 7 in the evening and we were DONE. After the tractor helped us pull out the last bush, we were lazy and Kit rigged up tying the bushes to the john deere so I could just drive them around back.
We are blistered, sunburned and sore but SO glad to have gotten that done!
So, anyone want to offer what to plant back in there? AND, here's another question...any thoughts on paint color of the house? Leave us a comment!
Have a great week!!

10 months (not quite a month late!)
Oh, Porter!
The days are just flying by and I hate that I am not getting as many pictures of you posted on here as I would like!
Ten Months:
You are still a laid back baby and proved to be one terrific traveler when we went back to Indiana! You are still in size 4 diapers and wear 12-18 months clothes.
Last week you went to the docotor for labored breathing and you weighed 23#5 ounces. You are a BIG boy and the pediatrician still predicts you will be bigger than your brother! You just started to "sign" in the highchair and it. is.adorable. !!!
You picked it up quickly and use "all done" for everything...playing with toys, getting your diaper changed, clothes changed. So so cute!
You did not at all like the grass in Indiana. It made you "freeze" {See picture below} but when we got back to Georgia and I sat you on the grass, you were motivated and started crawling on your knees. Now you switch back and forth between the traditional crawl and your "gator" crawl :)
You are pretty flexible. As long as you have something to eat and a cup, we are good to go.
You play hard, and sleep hard. Still taking two solid naps a day and twelve hours at night. You wake up happy too and like to play in your crib. You and "bear" are good friends :)
You are such a little charmer. You are pulling up on everything and love to "walk" holding our fingers. You aren't saying too many words. I think you are starting to say "momma". You waving bye-bye is adorable!
We love you Porter Ryan! Can't believe it's less than 2 months til your 1st birthday!! :)

We are Alive...
Last week when we got home I was a determined cleanin' fool. Not just organizing...gutting our closets, going through boxes and boxes I had tried to not have to face etc. Wednesday morning I woke up determined. The night before we moved our computer from our downstairs toy/office to up here in our bedroom. We don't have an enormous bedroom but we could put the computer in the corner and decided it might work just fine. I can't stand the fact when you walk into the house on the left was nothing but computer cords..or that's how I saw it. So, we've been making LOTS of changes around here at the Cadwallader home and we thought we'd also switch that up. Which meant not having room for the barrister which meant finding it a new home and so on...you get the point. Everything needed shifted. Well, by Wednesday afternoon I had the chills, sore throat, fever and the bedroom that was torn up only to be put back together again the same day...didn't happen. Needless to say...we are JUST now feeling better. Strep throat. me and the hubs. NO ONE to watch our kids and oh yeah...Porter under the weather too. That just leaves Henry. The energetic two year old who quickly caught on that we were incapable of getting off the couch. Sunday night I finally sat up to look around and noticed the whole house had been rearranged. two year old style. wowzers!! I just came upstairs and all the laundry is caught up and put away, the house has been official "lysol-ed", floors swept and steam mopped, the bathrooms have been bleached and the kitchen has been scoured. We are back on track. Tomorrow I just might have to reward myself with a little Target therapy :)

Good words
These are both from Joyce Meyer and thought they were such great words, they needed to be shared.
"worry is not a camera, it is a dark room developing the negatives."
"worry is a down payment on a problem you may never have."
Working on a 10 month post of P and a post on a few changes we've made around here...
Hope y'all are having a great week!
