Porter Appointment & Building Towers
Porter had a great 9month appointment yesterday! So thankful for another healthy boy! Not that we are concerned with Porter at all but we and the doctor feel the same way...that Porter is very intelligent but also laid back and content. So while he could be crawling by now, he is content to army crawl. It will come when he is ready!
Weight: 21# 8 ounces
Length: 28 3/4 inches
The boys are about the same in comparison if you look back HERE with Porter being just a bit heavier and about an inch longer in length. I love how much they play together these days and can't wait to continue watch them become best friends!
Yesterday after our appointment and after running errands, we came home for lunch and had a little time before naps. Henry built this all on his own and rather enjoyed that it "was taller than Nenry!". Good job, H!

{9 Months}.
Well, I know this is a day late but Sundays are just really busy for us....
Porter- 9 months?! You've been on the outside as long as you were on the inside!!
CraZy to think about..!!
You are still pretty much a happy-go-lucky little boy.
It doesn't take much to get you to smile.
You will laugh at just about anything and especially when it's from your brother...You have your 9 month well check tomorrow! Of course, we've been in and out of the doctor alot lately with you but it's still fun to go when it's a "well visit"!! You hover around 12-18 month clothes. You are in size 4 diaper.
I took these pictures in your room...Notice the big bulky thing off to the left? That's our extra large humidifier we had for the whole house but well, it seems to be yours since you really can't seem to sleep well with out it! And, notice our "hillbilly" crib elevator on the right? Yes, that's extra scraps of wood. Have a feeling you will need to sleep elevated until....well...you start using a pillow! ;)
You are calm...for the most part. Lately you know you can get what you want if you pull the "my brother just hit me or ripped a toy out of my hand". Then, you laugh with excitement...oh my! We are in trouble!
Yesterday, in between church, we got you a new car seat. Still rear facing but a convertible one. Oh. My. You are really intimidating Henry. He has always had "BiG bOy" car seat so he had LOTS of questions on the way home making sure he was still the "BIg BoY"...haha :)
You still just have two bottom teeth but I'm wondering if you are starting to work on some more! You love frozen go gurt in your mesh teether...
You make the funniest faces! Just love them! You still sleep great. You are still doing the army crawl but we are most impressed that you can do real "push ups!". You are starting to pull up and want to stand all.the.time.
You just started to not want your bottle alot of are not fond of being spoon fed...you want to do it all on your own!
Mr. Independent...
We love you, Porter and you are a true treasure.
I would do anything for you and Henry!!

It's been a while...
Here's just a few pictures of what we've been up to! (I know they are poor quality...still looking into the camera situation! :/)
Porter. Sweet Porter. He's better...I think. Finally done with breathing treatments (YAY! I get some time back! That was VERY time consuming!!) He has his 9 month check next week and I'm hoping we don't have to return before then!!
Speaking of the pediatricians office....it's so cute. Every room has a "theme" instead of a number and the last time we were there I snagged this pic of the "farm room"...cute...no?! :)
Saw this at the Geranium Festival and really think I could make it. Thinking chocolate brown to go in Porter's room?! Too cute!
I know it's hard to see but these are called inchbugs. This should help solve the sharing of cups at church :)
And this beauty...Henry did this...isn't the owl beautiful?! It was a favor from his friend Fischer's party. He did a great job painting it! :)

I posted these on FB but thought I'd still share who those who didn't see. Seriously, we have the cutest little boys!! :)

We're Back {Lots of Pictures} and Porter Update
Hey y'all!! We are back and this post is all sorts of crazy unorganized. Probably almost all of you already know my sister's blog but for lots of pictures of our time visiting them just click HERE. Really all these pictures are hers :). Thanks, Amy!
I don't have time to do daily posts/pics so I'll just do a simple review...
Alot of dreams came true for Henry. He got to do almost all modes of transporation! Between the shuttle bus, train in the airport, airplane and boat ride, he was thrilled and was very good for all those experiences. So impressed with him on the airplane!
How cute is this one piece suit from the Warrix family? Thank You!!
This picture make me smile. Henry is looking so much like BiG BoY lately!! Love it!
My boys together on Mother's Day!
Cutie PorterWe took a tour of the riverwalk and Henry LOVED it! It was about 30 minutes long and both boys did excellent!!
Here is the "meltdown" during the photo shoot. This picture still makes me laugh out loud!
Porter at the Alamo. He is SUCH a good, laid back baby!!
Henry warmed up to the pool and we were surprised how fearless he was jumping off the side with Kit catching him. This is a big step for "Mr. Safety" Henry!
Both times on the plane Porter took a bottle and fell asleep during take off.
Henry didn't sleep very well in Tx. And his attitude showed it most days that he was just. Exhausted. We gave him the window seat on the plane ride home and he did AWESOME, never making a peep. This was taken before we left the parking lot at the airport!
So...Poor Porter. He is SUCH a good baby! About two nights before we came back home Porter was coughing in the middle of the night. He is already much more of a "snorty" baby. He seems to always be congested (sorry bud for getting my sinuses!!). Felt so bad for him. No fever, no screaming fits, eating well, smiling, happy baby! During the day he was happy and his normal laid back self. I was wondering about the possibility of ear infections (both boys have never had any so I didn't know what to look for). Long story short...took him yesterday morning after getting back the night before. One ear infection in Right and start of one in the left and he tested positive for RSV. So, we are getting back into our routine and a "new routine" on meds and nebulizer tx for the next 10 days. He is still such a trooper. Sleeping well and his happy normal self. Wouldn't have guessed AT ALL! We are supposed to be busy all weekend with birthday parties, tea fundraiser at church, nursery Sunday AM and a performance by H Sunday night so that throws a wrench in the plans. Kit & I will have to trade off all weekend but we'll get it done! We just want you better, Porter!!
Last night Henry and I made a chocolate cake after supper. Let's just say it was bath time after that! ;)
So, that's it. We are back and are so thankful for the sweet hospitality we had from the Wx family!! It was SO great to see you guys and spend time with you!!!!
Miss you all already!!

Happy 8 Months, Porter!
Porter, you are still doing GrEaT. You are still such an easy boy.
You are LOUD. You babble, blow raspberries and laugh...quite loudly!
We love you so much! Crusty nose and all :)
You have spunk and so much personality. Can't wait to watch you grow more!
You are close to crawling! In just the past week have started to seem more interested in it.You make the funniest faces! This is the...I'm going to hit myself in the face from waving so fast! haahhahaha :)
You enjoy all the vegetable/turkey/beef/chicken dinners and make the funniest face with blueberries. You still aren't sure what you think.
And just recently...you've started this face....when Henry takes something away from you. :)You are handsome, sweet and are getting more hair by the minute!

Shower, What He made, History Made, still picking up the pieces & 3 more sleeps!
Yes, that's a long title! ha! There is much to say and not alot of time to be able to blog lately! We had a fun little shower for my friend Amie and we can't wait to meet baby Jack! Her daughter, Abigail, is Henry's friend and she is going to make a great BIG sister! Tate took more pictures that I hope to get but this is the only one I snapped with my phone. It was a fun afternoon!
So, ya'll remember that post from here? Well, ever since I put that picture collage up, I've been thinking I needed a bench by the back door. That door gets ALOT of use and that's where we put on shoes and I'm always having Henry sit on the floor so I suggested to my husband that he could make me a bench. A couple months went by and I tried a couple other options but nothing like what I wanted. Long story short...I got a call from Pottery Barn Outlet aboutt a bench I'd been wanting but that one ended up being damaged and I wouldn't want one with a corner smashed in. Kit could tell I was pretty bummed so Friday night we got supplies, stayed up late building it together and sanding it. We went to bed before any neighbors started complaining of noise around midnight:). Saturday morning my little guys slept in until 9AM! I woke up to a text from my husband (oh technology!) that coffee and donuts were waiting on me downstairs and he was already in the garage putting the finishing touches on it together! Then, when it was completed it was turned over to me to paint and distress! I wasn't sure we could get it done but yes, in 24 hours it was completed and sitting right where I've been wanting it! It's funny. We'd love to run together and we've tried but that doesn't happen regularly, we try lots of things other couples "do together" and I think, this is "our thing". We don't run marathons together, we don't read the same book and aren't into that many movies and can't stand being around large crowds. This is what we do. Put the kids to bed, head out to the garage, turn on some music, talk and work. We talk. We laugh. We smell of sawdust and say we can't believe what a mess we are making. My main job is holding things while Kit does the whole mathematical cuts and angles, etc. I just tell him if it looks "cute" or not and what I want it to look like overall. Then he hands it over to me. I paint and in between layers he helps me sand. He's very detailed like that. That's what we do. and I LOVE it. Does anyone want to know how to "distress" furniture? I took step by step pictures this time and I'd be happy to do a tutorial on it if you are interested. It's fun and it is easy just a step by step process. We ended up letting Henry help with "distressing" the furniture. Oh my. I sure hope he heard us when we told him this is a "one time only" thing. We don't normally "beat" furniture. He had alot of fun and this was his contribution to it. It ended up being my favorite part of the bench and makes me smile when I see it!
My sister texted me last night and said, "Have tv on? pres making speech..."
I quickly turned the tv on to find Osama Bin Laden is dead. What a moment for watching history being made. So so so so thankful for all the military men and women serving our country. Thank you for your bravery! After hearing the speech by Mr. President (which I thought was a good speech!), I turned off the TV and just had to thank God that HE is the Ultimate King, He is on the throne and He reigns...forever! It's so easy to get caught up in retaliation, unknown circumstances, what have you, but he has the ultimate authority and I'm so thankful!
We are still seeing the effects of last weeks tornado. It hits closer to home as we learned of 3 Caterpillar families who lost. everything. EVERYTHING. We has a Caterpillar community our embracing these 3 and will continue to help! We continue to pray for the families throughout the south who are still trying to pick up the pieces of their lives and move on. I just can't help but think how it wasn't my house, it wasn't my family, we were spared.
We are thankful.
On an extreme happy note....ONLY THREE MORE SLEEPS until we FLY OUT to SAN ANTONIO to see and I repeat as Henry says...
"Nant Mame, Uncle Todt, Robbie, Malberry, Kint, & Air-ka."
We can't wait.
:)
Couple cute things H has said the past couple of days...
While watching bits and pieces of the royal wedding...He stopped playing beside me, looked up and said, "Oh Momma, sooo pretty! She is soooo pretty!"
And last night before bed. Henry kissed Porter and said, "night night buddy. I wuv you, see you in the morning!"
Melt. my. heart.
I've been on here WAY to long...have a great week!
