28 week appointment

Our appointment went really well and baby is measuring right on track and looking healthy!! My stats were great and it was awesome to see the baby today. Baby is head down and ACTIVE! :). That is the best picture we got at the appointment and it's hard for me to believe that I'm already down to going to the doctor every two weeks...crazy!!
Well, this is a quick post. I'm exhausted and so glad that glucola test is finished! It's 9p.m. and this is the first time we've been home today.
VBS has been awesome and tomorrow is the last day!
For comparison...this was Henry but he was father along at 34w6d weeks

Two thoughts in one short post....

Today is the second day of VBS
We are having TONS of fun but Henry & I are exhausted!
I just laid him down and have yet to hear any little pitter patters...
I think my nap is calling me now!

And for something totally unrelated...I can't stop thinking about this poor girl!
I'll wait, thank you! :)

Happy Birthday, Lindsay!

Hope you have a great birthday and can't wait to see ya'll soon!! :)

81.

Oh.my.goodness. I just looked up at the ticker and can't believe we are only 81 days (or less!!) from meeting this new baby!! AAAHHHH! We are super excited about meeting this baby but this pregnancy has blown by twice as fast as the first. I have an appointment on Thursday for 28 weeks (I'll be 28weeks 6days at the time of appt). It's another big one with the glucola test, ultrasound and oh yeah, I think they are going to ask me if I've registered at the hospital...I feel like I just literally laid that paperwork down a day ago on my to-do pile and I can't believe it's been sitting for 4 weeks. If this was my first, I would have had it completed while waiting in the room! ha! :)

This baby is a mover and a shaker. It is an ongoing joke around here as the baby is already camera shy. I probably have 30 or more short video clips because the baby will be kicking me and as soon as I grab the camera....silence.calm.nothing. Nothing. I wait. wait. put the camera away and...kicking, rolling, jabbing.

I LOVE it though...nothing like it on earth!! :) I just feel like this baby is higher than Henry was. I never remember having a feeling of my ribs getting kicked last time but, maybe I forgot :).

We are so impressed with Henry's understanding. He took to his big boy room instantly and has never even walked back into the nursery. After 3 glorious days of him staying in his bed...he finally realized the freedom he had! ha! So, after a *fun* 24-48 hours around here, Henry finally got the picture to mind momma and poppa and things have definately improved!
I *think* we have both agreed on names and we ask Henry to give them a try and it's SSSOOO incredibly cute to here him say both names...either one sounds adorable coming from him!! I'd love to share, but I've learned my lesson on that one! The name will be revealed when the baby is born!!
He asks about the baby and LOVES any new babies he sees...which, I have a feeling he's going to be *more* than helpful when the new baby arrives! :)

A face to remember...

This would be Henry's please-don't-pull-out-the-camera-momma-and-take-a-picture-I'm-ready-to-go-bye-bye-not-say-cheese face

Does he have a Crush?!

We got the pleasure of watching Miss Zoe today! Her mama dropped her off before Henry was awake so he was so excited to see her this morning when he came downstairs. Zoe is such a cutie and Henry LOVES her. They are both quick movers but I did manage a couple of pictures... Zoe LOVES Dora the Explorer so when I turned that on this morning she was mesmorized!

Precious Zoe--check out that red hair!

Going in for a kiss while Zoe was watching Dora...

Say what?!

That girl told him!

ha! :)

18 month well check

Henry had a great appointment today...no shots! I staggered his shots out so he only has one more that is due in September and then it's only the flu vaccine every year (if we choose) until he is 4!
Weight: 26#
Height: 32 1/2"
The pediatrician & I had a great talk and I felt like we are on the same page with some of the questions I had for him...it was a really good visit!

One Lucky Toddler

Last night after Henry was in bed and we finally turned on the tv, Kit was up and offered if he could get me anything (he seriously does this every night!). I usually respond with asking for a bowl of ice cream or chocolate milk or some fruit but last night all I could answer was "doughnuts, please!" Of course, we had no doughnuts. But, I thought about them all night, so this morning I packed Henry up in his pjs (Okay, I'll even admit it...I was in my pjs and glasses, too!) and we went and got doughnuts and coffee (I didn't share the coffee) but I did share a doughnut! I keep telling Henry it was because he turned 18 months old but we all know it was for me...the pregnant gal! Talk about a lucky toddler. He's getting to enjoy alot of my cravings! With Henry, I was so good...water, fruits and veggies. That's really all I wanted until the very end of my pregnancy where me and Dairy Queen's banana splits became really. good. friends.
This pregnancy? If it's bad for you, I probably want it. Chocolate covered long johns with cream filling is on the brain...morning.noon.night. Chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk, chocolate m&ms...yeah...a little bit of fruit and veggies... mostly because I'm feeling guilty but really all I want is something chocolate!
oh boy do I ever see a gym membership in my future!
:)

Happy 18 months, Henry!

Hard to believe it's already been 6 months since Henry turned the big ONE! Last night Kit and I were talking about how Henry is our little parrot. Everything we say, he tries to repeat. The Sunday School teachers have mentioned that too and say the class is rather boring if Henry isn't there because the other children just stare at them during lesson time but Henry is constantly repeating words!
We love you, H!

When life gives you...

...peaches...

...make peach crisp!

MMMmmmMMM!

***

Saturday morning we met up with my friend/photographer Tate and the local peach farm and spent the morning picking peaches and taking pictures of Henry for his 18 months (note: the picture at the top of the page is only one of SEVERAL good shots she got!).
We picked a bucket full and the garage and house smell heavenly with fresh peaches! Sunday afternoon I decided I wanted to make a peach pie but Kit requested a peach crisp instead. It was delicious!

Henry ended up wanting to sleep in his room Saturday night after we got everything put together. He was so excited about his room that he did not want to go downstairs for his bedtime snack. At that moment we decided if he was that excited about his new room, we'd make a big deal out of it and see how he did (I was originally thinking of starting at nap time sometime this week). Well, he dove onto his bed and we sat quietly listening to the baby monitor downstairs but we never heard him...we checked on him, like we do every night before we went to bed, and he was all curled up in his bed! I thought for sure he'd get out and play and end up on the floor. I didn't sleep too soundly Saturday night because I just knew he'd get up but thankfully again, we never heard him! At nap time on Sunday he was a little more unsure and I had to walk him back to his bed about 3 times before he settled in but, he ended up taking a great nap. Sunday night however, he already figured out how to open the door so Kit stood at the door and walked him back to his bed a couple of times, too. Other than that, it thankfully has been uneventful....so far! :)

This is Henry's new thing...being on whatever level I am not!
He is a quick little fella and maneuvers the stairs like a pro.
